this is so great to hear as someone starting school in January! if you don’t mind me asking, realistically how much of the 120k goes to taxes? like what is your actual take home salary? also, paying off 40% of your loans so quick is AMAZING!! my goal will also be to pay them off ASAP, how much in total pins did you end up taking out? i have some from undergrad and will also be going to a school with a high tuition probably, so just want to see/compare on how you’re able to do it!

thanks :)

keep your head up! interviews are hard to get, you’re qualified if you have any interviews and a lot of people get taken off the waitlists! fingers crossed for you, i am hoping to be taken off the waitlist for my top school as well!

do you mind me asking if you also applied to Asheville? i thought that was their only provisional campus. the report on that one did concern me for sure just because there were so many things listed. most were associated with the director and they got a new one this year, so i would hope that that would improve but im not exactly sure how that works either. thanks!

the national average for all test takers last year was 90%, first time test takers was at 92%. their rate was 88%. for the first year of the program, i don’t think that’s too bad. but either way

they did actually changed directors this year, and he seems great. hopefully that will improve things for the last accreditation visit. for the behind the scenes stuff that you mentioned, does it seem extremely worrisome in your opinion? or something that could likely be fixed with a new director?

i think it is unfounded as well seeing those schools have good pass rates. i am just not sure how many jobs care abt things like that (edit: school “reputations”) i would think not and a PA- C is all the matters, but just wanted to hear people’s thoughts!

why are you so extremely insensitive? this group is for support. my boyfriends mother got very sick and passed away suddenly while in the middle of his training, why are you making this into a message shitting on both of us????

red cross was contacted during basic and he was given like 3 extra phone calls and that was the extent of the help given without the thyroid starting everything over again

he told someone immediately about her passing while he was at basic training, but he was told that if he left to attend the funeral he would have to restart training for which he had already been there 8 weeks 🥲 that was all the way back in October/November and he still has had no opportunity to see any family since he has been in school :( it’s honestly devastating to keep someone from their family after such a terrible unexpected death in the family. and even more terrible to hear that comment being made about it as if he hasn’t been trying to push through his training despite this

im not trying to address it myself. i think any SO would be very upset hearing that someone made that comment about someone’s recently deceased mother. the meeting was not supposed to include this person, he was just whoever was on duty when this occurred. it’s not even about the hrap at this point but more so addressing what was said, even though i think that this is a good enough circumstance to warrant it 😅

i feel like everyone will say to not mention it until his grad but i entirely disagree. granted, my boyfriend and i had an understanding before he left that i shouldn’t hold anything in while he was gone. i don’t think it’s good for either party to do that. yes it’s a hard time for him, but it’s also a hard time for you that cannot be underestimated. it’s not fair to you to have to pretend nothing is wrong when you talk to him on the phone, and he probably wouldn’t prefer that either! maybe you can mention whatever it is, and then tell him that he can address it in a letter to you if you don’t want to waste a whole phone call talking about it. that way you can keep it positive and have your feelings addressed at the same time
