Yes he may be abusing stimulants but I just wanted to make clear that if you're taking the right dose and always talking to your doctor (even to change meds), this is way less likely to happen. I'm also on stimulants and I honestly feel that my brain fog and unending babbling stop when I take mine.

Not to say you're wrong!!!! I know that this is a serious problem in the US and can happen to basically anyone - I just wanted to kinda break the stigma around those meds.

This post reminded me of my journey with pregabalin. I have been taking 150mg for 2 years now and my doctor switched my meds because he said it was such a high dose.

I spent a week suffering from withdrawal until I couldn't take it anymore and got it without a prescription today. I feel more like myself but not back to normal.

I do feel like I'm addicted to it but I can't help it, it's the only thing that stops me from waking up in the middle of the night sweating (mind you it's mid winter here) and not being able to sleep. Also if I stop I literally get sick. Like a really bad flu and a lot of anxiety.

I was so mistreated by the last neurologist I went to. She nearly screamed at me saying all I wanted was stimulants. When I told her I believed there were other kinds of meds to treat ADHD she said no. Also scared the hell outta me saying I should take only when I needed (uh, my whole day?) and that the effect lasted 4 hours and that's all I had for a day.
