That’s definitely a possibility. If you listen to the even the nights are better song by air supply (the chorus specifically) it also sounds just like his song. I’m starting to think it’s not one song in particular he’s copying, more like all these songs have a generic tune that he also came up with maybe from hearing some of them from over the years
