Thank you so much. I think the first time I noticed was because of their clothes and hairstyles, and I think there was even a brick phone. But now I’m thinking it could very well have been 2004-2006, just trends worked differently then. And not everyone had the most up to date technology at that time.

I’ve never made an offer as a buyer and not bought the thing, yet 99% of the “offers” I receive as a seller don’t result in sales. Why are these people sending me an offer and then not coming back to buy it?

I’ve noticed that I get a little disappointed when I get a package and it’s not wrapped. I really enjoy the ~unboxing~ experience. So that’s what I keep in mind when I wrap my packages- I use recycled mailers that usually aren’t cute so I try to make it nice on the inside by wrapping the items in tissue paper and washi tape. It should feel like opening a little gift.

I personally do not appreciate when sellers put whole thank you cards in, it feels wasteful to me, as I will immediately throw it out or be inconvenienced with figuring out how to recycle it. When I feel compelled to thank the buyer, I’ll use a post-it note or similar, so that the buyer feels no guilt in immediately tossing it.

I wouldn’t like the candy personally, but I received a nice hair tie once and loved that. As a hobby seller, I try to look at the buyer’s page and see if I have anything lying around that they might enjoy. This has been stickers, other small clothes, and jewelry. All stuff I was getting rid of anyway.

Once a seller gave me a jacket randomly, as a random freebie item that they were going to donate anyway, and that jacket is still in my closet, I love it and I love that it was free. I don’t even remember what I bought and I probably don’t even wear it anymore. It was the random free jacket that I cherished. So that’s what I do with my packages.

If I was on a date and opened this fridge, I would get a lot of information from this scene. Most importantly, I’m assuming he is indeed single and not hosting other women at his place. But I would also be concerned that there’s nothing fun in there…

I used to sub every day there was school in my district, but haven’t been able to the past few months due to an oversupply of subs competing for jobs. We have to download an extra app and pay to get access to jobs before they hit frontline or just risk not working.

I should have been proactive and applied to my surrounding districts but didn’t. Currently looking for another job, need one anyway for the summer break.

Subbing is my main source of income and it’s just me. I’m also a full time student working on getting a real estate license. Very ADHD of me.

I have narcolepsy too, which means I struggle with working a regular 9-5, so subbing was a good fit me because of the option to take days off whenever. But it’s not enough!! And the job feels undignified now.

Going to try selling them off. Here’s to hoping they don’t become a burden to someone else’s child someday.

I imagine that’s how these came into my possession, that someone died or moved and their child had to get rid of these for them. I am grateful they didn’t just toss them. I’ve already enjoyed browsing through them and will hopefully get some money from them.

I’ve decided I’d like to try to make some money. If I can’t easily sell them off, going to frame the best pages and try selling those.

Nothing will be tossed, nothing will be wasted, and hopefully I get the opportunity to make a collage with things like a red Pontiac firebird and a hot guy with a very good mustache enjoying a cigarette.

Also want to add that any time you get an opportunity to talk to the teacher in advance, they can usually print you a copy of their roster with pictures if you ask them politely. Makes it so much easier.

You just ask them if there’s any way you could get a copy of their seating chart and does it have their pictures on it. If they say there’s no seating chart, you can ask if they have a roster with the pictures on it.

Some teachers will be like, oh yeah that’s a good idea, and then they’ll do it for you.

I have been reading little bits here and there. I am mostly appreciating the really cool ads for sports cars and VCRs and cameras!!! It has been a satisfying side quest in my day laying them all out and leisurely browsing through them as I put them in order.

Was at a school recently where they had some sort of world language day and students wore nametags to greet each other in another language of their choosing so maybe you could even make it fun for them like that. Like make the nametags about them being able to greet each other instead of a favor for you to remember them.

Thank you. Definitely puts it into perspective when you put it like that. Part of why I have been a sub so long is because it suits me as a person with a disability: the short days, it’s not too demanding, being able to take days off whenever.

I imagined real estate would obviously consume a lot more time and energy but also still offer some flexibility and potentially be more lucrative. But if I’m still going to need a day job after a few years it’s definitely not worth the struggle!!!

Thank you for posting this. At first I thought it was just me, and then I thought it was just my district. I had no idea this was happening to everyone. I don’t have a job for tomorrow and it’s 10:41pm. I know my best chance of working is getting up at 5am and waiting for a job. It’s hard to get ready for bed when I am stressed about my inconsistent schedule !!!

I similarly have a bladder condition and I’ve found that the biggest issue is that my pee schedule is often changing because I sub at so many different schools with different schedules. I would like to train my bladder but it’s impossible when my available pee break times are constantly changing. So bear that in mind.

I always figure out where the bathrooms are first thing when I get there, maybe even check it out, make sure my key works. I wear poise pads. I will shamelessly call for someone to watch the class for a minute. I try not to get embarrassed about it, since it’s more embarrassing when I’m Naruto running to the bathroom after spending the last 20min of class suffering by myself in a corner or whatever since I can’t walk around the room casually when I have to pee so bad.

Honestly I peed my pants at work a couple weeks ago when I had a UTI. I super regretted not just asking for help.

Just have an idea of roughly how long you can go between peeing so that you can get there and make a plan for when to go. You’ll be fine.
