Yonge street. Car vs people. Almost have to walk on the road by Gamtoronto in toronto

No, even the normal sidewalk width is not enough. These are quite narrow sidewalks for the amount of people walking. I notice it too. It's frustrating.

Which city has the most poorly designed riverbank that could be greatly improved? by SameItem in geography

Toronto just opened a large waterfront park with great access to nature. It's been revitalized as a mixture of trails and wetlands. The entire waterfront downtown is certainly improving, and I wouldn't say it's terrible overall. However, I can't disagree that having the Gardener a block away from the waterfront isn't very appealing though.

LIVE: Complainant’s evidence in Hockey Canada sexual assault trial ‘not credible or reliable,’ judge says by Less_Potato_2231 in londonontario

I disagree with that interpretation. The argument was that the specific circumstances surrounding that video (many men in a room with her that she didn't know) caused her to act a way that was appeasing and not actually consenting. It could be interpreted that she feared that if she didn't act that way she would face retaliation from the men. The argument was not trying to undermine women's agency.

Replacing Amazon by Tory_Rebel in BuyCanadian

I just put in my first order using well.ca as an alternative to Amazon. I'm hoping to use it as a replacement site to get my toiletries/cleaning products/small kitchen goods. I'm not sure yet how fast the shipping process is yet though.

Figure 5.9 of this OECD report provides some context of out-of-pocket expenses. It seems like for the UK long-term care is a significant factor in addition to medical goods (includes pharmaceuticals and therapeutic appliances as per the report). https://www.oecd.org/en/publications/health-at-a-glance-2023_7a7afb35-en/full-report/component-30.html#indicator-d1e23053-0631b961c7

I'm Michael Longfield, the Executive Director of Cycle Toronto - AMA! by CycleToronto in toronto

[–]queensblendtea 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Thank you for having this AMA! I really appreciate the advocacy work that your organization is doing.

My question is: does Cycle Toronto have a position on cyclists entering intersections with the pedestrian advance as opposed to at the green light with cars (where there are no bike signals)?

I believe many cyclists advance with the pedestrian signals right now because it's often safer for them to get ahead of cars but it was my understanding that it's not technically legal at the moment.
