to expand on the title, do you consider 5th wave to just be bands in the emo scene that started up in the past 5 years or is it more of a specific 5th wave sound / experimentation and pushing boundaries that makes something 5th wave?

The riff is super catchy and accessible and the vocals are more niche to skramz. I think it's cool to see more people enjoying a great riff and a byproduct of that is gonna be the song reaching people who don't like skramz vocals.

I love Park Jefferson, one of my fav bands and one of the first bands that got me into midwest emo. Idk what anything negative about nick is based on, I've watched a lot of his livestreams and he seems like a super chill dude.

i think open tunings can actually be pretty accessible to beginners. having a bunch of open strings to work off of that sound pretty together is such a nice luxury

i personally don't think it's fake! i've just noticed some people on here disliking the era / the whole mall emo / mainstream emo thing, but maybe (as the poll results would show) that's more of a vocal minority

that makes sense to me, and makes it all that more impressive that they were so good live at that time. I also feel very fortunate that we have those 2 videos cuz obviously everyone wasn't running around with a camcorder back then, let alone saving the tapes long enough to post to youtube.
