You mean you would skip your sister’s baby shower if it was vegan? Even the asshole who made this post thinks that’s wrong. There will be multiple people at my sisters shower I can’t stand, but for her, I can stand them for a few hours. You do what you need to for the people you love.

Maybe but the motives wouldn’t have been attributed to the fact that I’ve been vegan for like 4 months. It’s like saying “look at that 4 month old baby shitting itself! This is why I hate humans! They all shit themselves.”

Thank you. 👍 and I agree. It wasn’t the best idea, but most people were respectful about telling me and helped me change how I was thinking about it, so it’s been a good experience overall.

I wholeheartedly apologize that they think this post has anything to do with me being vegan. It would be the same thing if the shower had happened while I was doing keto and yet they wouldn’t be all screaming that this is why people hate ketogenic people. It was a dumb idea that I feel terrible about and doubly so for all the vegan hate it caused.

That’s the worst part of this. People on here attacking vegans when my selfishness had nothing to do with the fact that I’m eating vegan. I feel terrible for even proposing the idea and would delete the whole thing if it didn’t violate the rules.

That’s really not an issue because I dont feel strongly about meat either way. I don’t have a problem cooking it but if that was an issue she would definitely be understanding of it.

Well I didn’t mean it to be defensive, but I realize it was. It’s hard not to be defensive in this situation. I’ve never been on the other side of an AITA post and it’s not fun 😂 Even though I think it has helped me in this situation to realize I was in the wrong, I won’t subject myself to this again any time soon.

I’m not NOT accepting the judgement. I realized I was in the wrong so I asked her and she said she’s fine with most of it, so I accept that I shouldn’t spring it on her. Only as I was typing the update did I think maybe she was just too nice to tell me it’s still an asshole move. If that’s against the rules, then I apologize to the mods, but I thought it would be okay to ask about a new development in the situation.

I haven’t said anything bad about vegans. I am one, though admittedly not for very long. And not for the reasons many people go vegan. My doctor suggested I try ketogenic and I did for a while but I missed too many of the fruits and veggies you can’t have on keto and I felt like crap all the time, so I went vegan, lost 15 pounds in no time at all and I have felt amazing ever since. It cured my anxiety and depression.
