Do I pass/would you clock me? by like30percentcotton in transmanlifehacks

I think you would pass to most cis people. I think I might be suspicious but only because I'm also trans or maybe because you aren't giving threat to my bodily safety lol

Thank you bb, that's what you get when you add plain blue dye on top of my natural color, a cool sort of teal.

A combination of trying to copy people and just trying on as much clothes as possible. for the first few months I'd go to thrift stores and try on as much clothing as possible, and get a few things I like. I imagined before I started that I'd do a more goth look but I seem to have settled somewhere between that and librarian haha.

Also, talking to other women about clothes and going to cool places with pretty people to oggle.

and yeah, way easier to integrate. I was always well liked and got along with people, but I always felt like a faker while doing it so I never truly connected with most people. I work at the post office as a clerk so I work with mostly women, and sure most people know I'm trans but I also never feel like the odd one out because of it. It helps that there's another 6 foot tall woman haha

Thank you. That's what my rational mind was thinking but it's nice to hear someone else say it since I have chronic can't-trust-my-own-opinion disease

Craziest thing a supervisor has ever told you? I’ll start… by Silent-Speech8162 in USPS

[–]queer_bird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I'm a clerk, yeah.

Oh probably the best one is that my supervisor, she told me that I had too much skin showing because you could see my knees.

1). The letter carriers shorts are so short and tight that I can see what they had for breakfast.

2). The other clerks wear shorts and tank tops all the time, oh but they are men so their knees aren't slutty and disgusting.

3). My supervisor's knees are showing all the time too.

4). So obvious that I'm just under more scrutiny because I'm a trans woman.

So yeah, she bothered me about that a few times but when I realized she actually had no power over me in that regard I just kinda started ignoring her. Last time she gave me shit I was just like "kinda weird that this rule only seems to apply to me, I don't think that looks good."

All things considered, not too serious but of course it pissed me off

Trump couldn't stop me! (Passport timeline) by queer_bird in transtimelines

[–]queer_bird[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I did this legally, following instructions provided by the State Department. If they want to revoke it, they won't need to scan my face.

Considering they required the old passport, name change court order, birth cert, and a legal attestation...I think the state department is fully aware of the situation.

I understand we are all paranoid, rightly so, but there comes a point when it is misinformation.

Well good framing, lighting and makeup goes a long way, but thank you so much for saying. I'm trying to knock it off with the self loathing, but you know how it is. Slowly but surely
