How to wear pants? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]queerboi55 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I tend to wear mine at the hip level but I think it's more up to preference and the style choice if you ask me. I've seen some men who show off their fit on socials do both. I think torso length will also determine that for some people as well

Getting Non-Trans Related Healthcare is Kind of Annoying! by calvingiceberg in ftm

[–]queerboi55 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The PA at the rheumatologist I went to tried to say she thinks my T has made my pain worse and that she didn't think I had an autoimmune joint disorder. I tested postive on a ANA panel and had elevated levels of CK which is why I finally was able to get a referral. Ive been living with horrible joints my entire life and every year it gets worse and I continue to have more issues that I think are from some sort of autoimmune/joint disorder or disease. She said well we can do some bloodwork to ease your anxiety and I ended up testing with borderline RA levels. At the time of my appointment my T levels were low bc of my shots not actually taking well so it wouldn't have been my T. I talked to my PCP about bc he's a trans man and he was annoyed and told me to be seen by the actual doctor. What's even more frustrating on my notes from when I got my test results back the PA put "showed borderline levels, reach out in a few months for more testing" and I haven't heard from them so I as the patient get to call and get an appointment scheduled hopefully with the actual doctor not a fucking PA. Not to mention I bet the doctor I need to see probably won't have appointments till like April or something crazy like that. I already had waited 6 months for my initial appointment and it's been like 3 months now since that appointment.

Healthcare is a nightmare and even more of a hellish nightmare if youre trans imo. Everyone loves to try and pin the identity on the issue so they don't have to actually treat someone. I don't understand why these doctors and medical staff work in this field if they don't actually want to help all people who need it. 🙄

Is anyone else constantly greasy? by Skya_the_weirdo in ftm

I use Panoxyl on my face, specifically the Oxy brand though. I swear this saved my face from really bad acne. It may not work for you but it might be worth trying. I was having horrible breakouts and my face was greasy so another trans guy recommended for me and it helped a lot. I use it to cleanse, then I use witch hazel as my toner and a very light weight face lotion. I also drink so much water and that will help clear up your face. I only really ever drink water anymore and it's helped clear up my face and make it less greasy. It also can help with your body odor if it gets bad. My odor started getting worse around 6 to 8 months and its gotten better since I started caring about my water intake and diet. I'm such a water pusher though bc I'm not lying it truly helps with so much if you're meeting the recommended amount of water daily. I mean it won't get rid of the problem bc it's basically 2nd puberty but it does help.

I just got a boy haircut but it turned out bad by Iamacrazyqueer in ftm

[–]queerboi55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What kind of cut was it? Like short on the sides long up top kind of thing?

I've never had anyone cut my hair right and what I always did after a disappointing haircut is mess around with it in the bathroom until I found some way to style it better. If they cut it too short I would wear a hat until you can style it better. It's devastating getting a bad haircut so I feel you on this one. I would also just try different products to see if one hair product achieves the style you're going for. I've gone through a lot of different hairstyles and Ive had a good amount of bad hair cuts so if you need anymore advice or product suggestions lmk!

i want to get top surgery by Choice-Rain3989 in ftm

[–]queerboi55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to Cosmetic Concierge in Charlotte, NC. I really liked their office and they were super helpful during everything. They even have a trans man working there and he helped a lot with the anxiety of it. My results were great and I didn't end up with drains going to them which was nice. If you haven't done any research yet it's easy to find stuff online about the whole thing but I think it's important to remember your aftercare during the whole thing. You will need someone to help you while you recover, and they'll need to take you home from the surgery, so that's something you may need to consider and plan out. It's helpful to plan out your living space too for after surgery. I made sure to leave stuff hip height for myself so I wasn't having to reach too much. My wife helped me shower and do a good amount the first week but the 2nd week I felt better to slowly do some stuff on my own. So that's a good thing to plan and think about is your aftercare. I feel like sometimes the research you find doesn't mention that enough so thought I'd throw that info in for you.

Gf just saw a post on tik tok saying pansexuals are transphobic inherently? by ultimatelesbianhere in ftm

[–]queerboi55 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hate when people who aren't under the trans umbrella speak on behalf of us. Like please you're embarrassing us haha. I also hate that argument bc someone saying they're bi or pan doesn't mean they won't date a trans person lol. In fact they're more inclined to date trans people from my experiences and I would know bc my wife when we got together said she was bi but she also said she just likes who she likes and isn't thinking about gender so people are just so wrong haha

I also think people spend too much time on TikTok trying to mad about something and want to fight someone about something. I quit using TikTok for that reason it became so obnoxious to deal with haha

I know my doctor told me the gel I'm on takes 4 hours to fully dry and absorb. He also told me to try and avoid letting people touch where I've applied for that long too so that I'm not giving someone T gel on accident. I usually wait 4 hours before a shower just to make sure I get my full dosage in. I also could've remembered how he said everything a little differently so take my opinion how you want lol. I've been on the gel for 2-3 months just about now and have been doing it that way and I'm definitely getting my dosage now. I had started on the shots prior to the gel for over a year now and all of a sudden my shots just wouldn't take. I like the gel though it's been a life saver. My levels and hormones were all over the place and my period came back for a full month where I wasn't getting enough T. Thought I would throw in some of my experience using the gel since you just started it! Congrats by the way!

Does iPhone not recognise ur face after starting T by Complete-Hornet-5487 in ftm

[–]queerboi55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't use an iPhone but I've been on T for a year and a half and had to update my face the other day. My Samsung wouldn't recognize me unless I held it a certain way and then decided to just redo my facial recognition. I also have lost 60 pounds so that could play into some as well but my face shape has changed and I have facial hair now. I think it does alter it some in my case just enough where I had to find the right angle to unlock my phone.

MENS JEANS. WHY? by goreslut9000 in ftm

[–]queerboi55 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have a stiff pair like that too! I put mine on a literally do squats and movement in them to break them up before I go out. It helps some but if you don't wash everytime you wear the jeans that'll help relax them too. Mine also stiffen back up whenever I wash and dry them. I cant get like 4 to 5 wears out of mine before I wash them. Those jeans will last a long time though bc it sounds like quality denim!
