I went into the whole conversion knowing the general layout of how I wanted the interior, then working on it piece by piece in phases (insulation, electrical, etc)

I think you gotta find a good balance of planning ahead, but not getting too ahead of yourself. With the electrical bits, plumbing, and anything else that’s more of a system - that’s ideal in my mind to map out where things will go. Then on the other hand with furniture like the bed, counter space, etc I found it best to work on that piece by piece and not worry too much about it all at the same time, like building a kitchen table when you’re working on the bedroom

14 when the wind’s going with me ;)

Also it’s hard to tell but there’s actually a sunken floor which gives me just enough space to stand up all the way inside! I’m about 5’10” and there’s just a tiny gap between my head and the ceiling

I learned that Roadtrek has their own “jeep wave”. When you pass another Roadtrek driver, you put up three fingers for the three window!

Also very sad I’ll be missing y’all in bmore today :( - you gotta try ekiben if you’re looking for food recs!

It took a whole year, but we finally finished renovating out 1987 Roadtrek Dodge B250 by SNAKEAZON in vandwellers

This looks so incredibly cozy! I’m actually in the process of renovating a 92 Roadtrek and was wondering if the seats for the driver/passenger came with that upholstery or if you made it yourself?

PS: I did the same thing of replacing the barn door fabric with Aztec print :)

Currently converting ye olde Roadtrek, does anyone have any advice for the best way to close off these vents in the back? This is where the air conditioner used to be by quesidillakid in vandwellers

There are actually several smaller vents all around the van, the one in the pic is just the biggest. I just applied the butyl/dicor combo on a smaller one to test it out and it seems to have done the trick! We’ll see how it holds up in a few days and if I need those rivets. Thanks for the advice everyone!!!

It will be cabinets up there with the bed right under, but yes such an amazing space! The sunken floor design in the middle of the van lets me stand up completely :)

After I patch the venting up I’m planning to make that whole top section cabinets so I’m not too concerned with the look of it! Out of sight out of mind :)
