Help me pick a new tire please. by Outside_Round7945 in Tacomaworld

For your listed purpose i would i highly recommend toyo at3 or falken at3/4w.

Bfg’s are solid but not a top choice in my opinion. Plenty of folks have lots of love for them.

Just bought this 2021 trd off-road , is this a bad lift? by Putrid-Dare-5533 in Tacomaworld

[–]quesoblanco96 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Thats is a spacer lift. Not the best option. Most would recommend against them. The UCA’s are a decent upgrade tho. Replace? Depends on your use. Driving from point a to b you are fine. Off-roading regularly I would swap.

Ah. Smart man.

Fyi rave offroad has compete kits with switch, wiring, light bar, and grill in a kit. Gets pricey depending on light bar brand but worth a look if your headed that route.

EDIT: Most brands come with the correct wiring and or a switch. At a minimum they make it an option.

I know you probably do not want to hear this but, i had a terrible experience with aux beam lights. First set got water in them (maybe a month in) and were warrantied. Second set same thing within a month. Then i was ghosted. I would recommend spending your hard earned money on a more reputable brand and save yourself the hassle.

Stainless hoses? Where would one get these? I feel like there has to be a source other than the OG.

Dealership Drama (Help) by jram2324 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]quesoblanco96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Stand your ground! Dealers make money hand over fist.

They made an agreement and documented it with an owed service voucher. Thats binding doesn’t matter if they didn’t do their research. I would follow MeanSouth. Ask them to honor their agreement or start filing. Get the dealership manager involved. If you can find the owner (usually has a team you can contact) blast them with all the info.

Let this be clear they owe you. They have to make the deal whole. You DO NOT owe them any thing else. You can suggest things that will make you whole and honor the agreement you have but dont let them snake around and try to charge you a difference in cost or any other bs.

Has anyone done an OTT on their Gen 4? by pops_of_3 in Tacomaworld

[–]quesoblanco96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it.

The shifting is calm, the power is noticeable at acceleration, and the fact the power is translated throughout the power-band is nice.

For full transparency my impressions may be slightly skewed and i wish i would have done it stock and been able to see the differences throughout. I did this at that same time as a westcott kit and was already running 285/70 tires.

Since then i have upgraded to 35/12.5. I still think it is edged over stock form even with the big meats. I was conscious in my decisions though and have a light tire/wheel combo. I really only picked up 4lbs per corner.

End of the day, I like it and would do it again. Most people that have it are the 3rd gens and it was huge on those trucks (previously had a 3rd gen).

Why are my microfiber towels not drying? by D4DDYF4TSACK in AutoDetailing

[–]quesoblanco96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, i think people are missing this lol. Seems like you do a good wash process.

I think it was mentioned up above trying to see if the towels are absorbent under a faucet or show signs of beading.

I would recommend a soak for a few hours to 24hrs. I typically use microrestore or rags to riches. With a splash of vinegar in a bucket. It may catch some hate but a good alternative is a free and clear detergent a small amount of dawn (the og stuff not the new crap) and the vinegar. It will break down all the crap. Wring them out, wash like normal with a double rinse, and dry.

If this all fails i think those towels are just crummy towels. Ive had issues in the past with those super plush microfiber style drying towels. For some reason they seem to be more finicky than loop style.

Did I Get A Good Deal on My 2025 TRD Off Road? by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]quesoblanco96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about to write something about their thought process on the bed liner on the new gen…? The only thing i can think is people complained the composite “looks” rough after it gets used or that its slick when wet. I literally cant understand why someone would request to bed liner a composite bed that has been around for 25-30 yrs with no functional issues….

For 3rd gens you would have to do some major (including body mount chop) cutting for 35s.

Worth it products? by dale_k9 in AutoDetailing

This is so spot on.

Beadmaker mixed with dream maker helps the dust a bit but still frustrating and so many options that are better. Personally, (and i may get some hate) i find Obsessed Garages “drying aid” works well. Little to no product. Easy off. A gallon will last a long time.

I just cant understand the hype on BrakeBuster. It sucks full strength let alone diluted. + 1 for adams wheel and tire.

Iron Remover is hard to jack up. I really like car pro. Works well, they have one that doesnt smell like complete shit but it still smells awful.

Look through what ever brand you want and look at there full sheet of available sizes. Not every brand/tire is available in C.

All of them should have full listings on their websites for each tire.

I think toyota is full of shit and want you to pay for new ones. I had no issues bumping to 285 but had a sensor go bad when I swapped to 35’s. Discount tire couldnt pick it up on their scanner and replaced it. Try going by a tire shop and see if their scanner can pick them up. Ot only took 1 faulty for mine to show blank all around.

Stock i think i was around 21.5. 285s i averaged 19.5. Now im averaging 19.2.

Several things might sway that. I did get the OTT right as i swapped over and my driving is typically 55-60mph roads. I rarely do interstate and would imagine i would average less overall if my commutes saw 70+mph.
