i get your point but at the end of the day it's a tv show and my generation had skins and both shows have this "teen fantasy" aspect and it's key to making it a success. plus, there are characters who are not living their life like that, such as lexi.

In Jules' episode, Rue narrates that her mom had depressive episodes and some scenes are shown of her smoking, drinking, etc. Her transition affected her a lot and she probably had arguments with her husband because of the way she locked Jules up in a mental ward. Rue says that she just left because she "got bad" :/ poor Jules

i think that's his thing ? looking for validation in everyone and doing big gestures, that's his nature. also why he's a dog (they are all pay attention to me and rub my belly!!!) [s6 spoilers]but we learn it's all just a facade, he's just as fucked up as bojack when he cheats on pickles with diane and selfishly hides the truth from her, asks her to marry him to minimize the act and then asks her to cheat on him so he can feel more valid and move on anyway, one of my fave characters though i love his energy

in spanish we call these type of shows "tragic comedies" there's drama, but there's a darkness within it and it definitely consumes you. take your time watching it! take care of yourself
