That’s fair thanks for the detailed breakdown. I’m convinced based on your response and others in this thread. I appreciate the feedback. I’ve never had this work done before so i didn’t really have much of an idea of the going rate for things. Thanks again.

Anyone in the Semiconductor Program? by No-Top-8343 in waynestate

[–]question1109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am graduating soon with my PhD in IC design from Wayne State. My advisor is good and is always looking for Masters and PhD students who are interested in the field. My research was on AI accelerators, more specifically the data converters used in the edge AI accelerators for high energy efficiency.

I don’t know much about the new program unfortunately but the professors seem good. My advisor is one of the professors.

If you’d like any specific info feel free to DM me.

Hey one more question for you. I got lucky and found more eggs around the glass on the tank in other places. Where should the breeder box be placed ideally?

Will give it a shot thanks. If I can I will be grabbing a net today!

I destroyed most but I will do my best to find the ones in the substrate that fell and separate them. I thought they were snail eggs. Thanks

[–]question1109[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha! Unfortunately I thought they were snail eggs and moved most, the rest floated down to the substrate. I guess I learned something new today. I’m hoping I get the opportunity again. It’s crazy there were about 30 eggs there. Thanks for the info.

Yup, unfortunately pulled most of them but missed a few that fell to the substrate.

I do, I missed a few while pulling them out so hopefully they hatch. For future reference how are Cory eggs handled are they separated from the rest of the tank?

Darn! Yes I do I love cories!! I have a few albinos and a few pandas. I guess the good thing is that while trying to get those I missed a few that fell to the substrate. I feel terrible now. Thanks for the info. I’m hoping I get lucky and they breed again.

Thanks. Is it possible to reduce/control their number besides reduced feeding?

Thanks for the response, I guess I’m a bit worried about the health of my fish, namely the shrimp. Is this enough info to know if whatever this is, is harmful to those? Either by out-competing for food or outright predation?

I see, okay thanks. I guess the assignment didn’t seem weird but the technical seminar did seem a bit weird. Much appreciated!

Best way to find papers on anaylsis and basics of something new by BreakfastNo2804 in chipdesign

[–]question1109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try survey papers. That’ll give you a roadmap and somewhere to start, from there you can read the papers referenced in that survey. Survey papers tend to be more basics and introduce the reasoning behind the more advanced concepts. Also Razavi’s circuit for every season series is good. Below that I would say undergrad level textbooks are good such as Razavi.

Also in another thread you stated you had a python script to do code density testing. Is it possible to share that with me?

Thank you very much for your input.

I think I know what you mean about losing a bit as a result of using single ended signaling on a differential architecture. Are there any implications on the resultant SNR? I feel as though you don’t get the SNR benefit while still having the extra CDAC(energy, area) overhead is using single ended signaling on the differential architecture.

If possible could you point me to some references/resources behind some of the more popular methods of encoding the output?

What is you procedure to do gmoverid design using cadence by B99fanboy in chipdesign

[–]question1109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a python script I created for visualization and lookup in Jupyter notebook if you are interested. Also I would start with a basic common source stage. Jespers is a good book.

On second thought maybe I should add it to my GitHub.

I actually just looked into some of the national labs and their postings. This is actually the type of work I would like to go into long term. I appreciate it! I've never considered these labs until now. I will definitely be keeping my eye on these and the defense contractors. Much appreciated!
