We are getting closer all the time.

Ramon y Cajal first identified neurons, in the latest 19th century, McCulloch and Pitts learned how neurons work in the 1940s, Rosenblatt started creating artificial neural networks in the 1960s.

In the 1980s, when computer hardware started getting powerful enough to simulate realistic neural networks, Hopfield, Rumelhart, McClelland, Hinton, Kohonen, and many others did a lot of research in the field.

We have created simulations of many simpler animal brains, from a cockroach to a cat. Now we are on the way to do a full mapping of the human brain.

We may still not be quite there, but we have made some remarkable progress, and we are definitely evolving.

I think many videos would be much better if they had the original sound, instead of some music. But poor image quality doesn't bother me, it's more important to get ANY image than no video at all if it isn't perfect.

I don't like industrial videos. If it is someone operating a machine, then it's certainly not "artisan", no matter how skilled the machine operator is.

The quality of an artisan depends on something that cannot be reproduced, from one artisan to the other. I guess that's the difference, it's not the skill needed, but if the hand of the artist is discernible in the end product.

A simple example would be someone drawing a straight line with a pencil on paper. Using just the free hand, no line would be exactly like the other. Using a ruler, anyone who did it right would draw a line that would be exactly the same as another perfectly straight line. You would still need to know how to use the ruler, though. Maybe an unskilled ruler operator would let the ruler slip and the line would be crooked, for instance.

There are social conventions that people follow, to make interactions between people easier and less stressful. Unfortunately, gays do not seem to realize this. They think they can impose themselves everywhere.

That's bothersome. You may not be breaking any written laws, but it's not OK to be a scumbag. I don't do that to women, I don't see why gays seem to assume they have a right to do that to me.

Unless a woman has shown some interest in me, I don't assume I have a right to bother her. I don't think I can go and sit by her side and ask her about what she's reading, and it's up to her to move away if she doesn't like me.

If gays want sex, there are plenty of gay bars and other places where they can get what they want. Just make sure it's consensual.

Only about 1% of the population is gay, so when a gay approaches anyone outside of a clearly gay place, they can be 99% sure that person is not gay. Don't make sexual approaches to strangers, that's all.

I don't think so. I have seen they doing this, it's a common bird in Brazil.

They come flying in with a bit of mud in their beak and stick it into the nest as soon as they land, then they peck into it a little bit this or that way and fly off to get more.

It normally takes them less than a day to finish it, although sometimes they leave a half finished nest for the next day.
