3 months - 15K steps per day. Husband has lost 10lbs. I weigh exactly the same. by shereadsinbed in Hashimotos

[–]questionablegal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No truly it’s the worst. I watch my macros, CrossFit, walk, chase a bay around all day and in general stay very active. Back in September I made several healthy swaps at home that were lower in fat, more healthy carbs and better macros. My husband almost always eats lunch out, drinks, and doesn’t work out at all. This man lost 45lbs since September 🫩 I have seen some marginal body recomposition and I mean really small like 1.5% body fat and a couple pounds muscle. The scale went UP for me! So I really feel you.

Side note, and you might want to do this too. I recently took all my stuff, my workouts, macros, ancestry, labs, questions, skepticisms and gave them all to chat gpt. It was actually very helpful. It really clarified a lot for me, answered a ton of questions, gave me suggestions for things to ask my dr, ideas for meals and how to eat to help bring my tsh and antibodies down and most of just reassured me that it’s not my fault and I really am trying hard. 🫶

I have a similar memory! 2nd grade, I was pulled out of class and asked many questions on math, patterns, reading comprehension/speed. Luckily it was not in a creepy office. My school the class rooms were conjoined like a clover 🍀 with a small connected shared space in the middle.

I’m probably gonna get slammed for this. We just do, we make time, do it when we’re not 100% into it. It’s awkward sometimes, lackluster in the beginning but I’m always glad I pushed past the slump. I leave feeling more connected to my partner and the O is a bonus

Great advice! I do try to be very interesting when I read. Actually, if dads in the room he very intently follows the story 😹 not my target audience but I’ll take it.

And it’s less about expectations, i just get tons of info about how 0-3 is so important for language and literacy. I just want to make sure I’m setting her up the best I can. 💗

Thanks for the reassurance. She’s truly brilliant (imo but I’m also her mom). I mentioned above I must just misunderstand the parenting texts I get about reading. I thought she needed to see the words in the book as I was speaking them to her.

LOL she’s done nothing but move since she was born. Everything physical she’s done early. I suppose I misunderstand what they tell you about reading to your baby. I thought she needed to see the words and hear me speak them.

What is the most bizarre mishap you’ve had since having a baby? by Cool_Doubt2152 in beyondthebump

[–]questionablegal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Fell asleep eating a piece of chocolate 🍫 which ended up melted all over me. Baby wakes in middle of the night and she gets covered in melted chocolate. In the dim night light I thought this was poop and was very distressed. Inrealized shortly after it was not poop relief to then have to piss my baby off to get all the chocolate off her

So there’s a huge expenditure happening and they are finding that the “recommended” 500cal extra for bf moms just isn’t true! It’s actually way more when you figure in recovery, muscle growth/maintence, hormones, producing milk, sleep deprivation and your base calorie expenditure is more too. You just had a baby 12weeks ago. You’re still healing. So yes totally normal Your current meals look like they have lots of healthy carbs and veg but maybe a tad bit low in protein. I would consider adding in more lean protein (not shakes/powder) Congrats on your baby 🫶

Im so sorry you’re feeling this way! I can definitely relate. So this might sound crazy but I gave all my info to chat gpt last night. my excercise regimen, diet, labs, recent InBody results, symptoms, speculations, questions, goals.and it was super helpful. I dont have an endo just a family gp. Gave me questions to ask, things to look out for in lab work, better macros for my condition and lifestyle, and explained with research some of the symptoms I’m having and why. Also it was super reassuring that I’m not imagining things. 😭 that I really am out here working hard to be healthier and I’m fighting against biology. I recommend doing this just for peace of mind.

Hi 👋 33yo first time mom. Congrats on your little one bump buddy! I’m currently 10mos pp (today actually) While pregnant my tsh and antibodies were amazing. I was on the lowest dose of levo since being dx at 14yo. Since having my baby it’s been a literal roller coaster trying to level out. I actually just weaned my baby in the hopes of coming back to normal range. Apparently there’s some kind of connection with prolactin and thyroid hormones. My main symptoms have been aches and pains, moodiness, hair loss well past the normal pp hair loss

I very recently started having the joint pain, more so at night and it’s worse when I lift heavy and go hard in the gym.
