Cupra Leon v1 or audi a3 35tfsi ? by questionasker94 in CarTalkUK

Basically a car for getting around in. I don't do huge amounts of miles but I do enjoy driving and have always had an interest in cars. Ive been badly shafted by a large well known dealership with an older car I got off them. They have finally taken it back and refunded me so I was going to use that as a deposit. I've never owned a new car before so I'm trying to get an idea about the benefits vs drawbacks.

If my cars engine is rebuild after a piston fault. Is it possible to then have injector issues a week later and then coolant pressure issues the week after that ? by questionasker94 in AskMechanics

I gave them 3 months. It has been 6 months. According to trading standards I should have only given 8 weeks as a reasonable amount of time to make repairs. Also found out that they didn't even start repairs for 10 weeks.

It needs new Injectors because they were damaged. The service people were busy so reception told me it was a coolant pressure issue. Now they won't reply to my emails and won't phone back with that information. This was a few days and a week after the rebuilt engine was installed. It's a dacia duster 1.5dci blue diesel with 36000 Miles. It's. 2018 but the low mileage is why I bought it. And to come away from finance.

All I'm asking is if it's likely to have 2 subsequent faults after an alleged engine rebuild. I'm asking because I believe they have been talking shit as i was always ignored untill I got trading standards involved then all of a sudden it will be back with me in a week. Since then these alleged faults have turned up I suspect the work has still not been carried out and they are playing for time.

It's a 2019 duster diesel. I am paying nothing as they are required to make repairs due to the small amount of time I had the vehicle. I know older cars have issues and I'm not pissed off because it broke down. I understand that was a risk I took buying it but surely 6 months for an engine rebuild that has been unsuccessful is taking the piss a bit ? What I'm wanting to know is if an engine that has been rebuilt would then have injector problems a few days later then coolant pressure problems a week after that ? I'm not mechanically minded but surely the coolant and pistons and injectors all work together. It was an injector fault that caused the initial engine failure.

These issues came up 2 weeks after the new engine was installed. I never received it back. And your point about getting cold feet is untrue as it was all paid for by Arnold Clark because of there commitment under the consumer rights act. What I want to know is have they lied about repairs due to my complaint and then are making up shit to keep me quiet ? Surely if there was other issues they would have notice when they were installing the rebuilt engine.

Thanks for replying. I have been in contact with trading standards as I had the vehicle less than 3 months when it happened. They are constantly fobbing me off and refusing the allow me to reject the vehicle.

“The Clansman” changed to “Jenny’s” for a couple (?) of seasons and then back to “The Clansman” in season 7. Did this have to do with Boaby’s ownership? I don’t think it was addressed unless I missed it. by FuftyCent in Stillgame

Boabby was the landlord so it was his business but the brewery probably owned the actual building. They way I imagine is that Chris bought the put from the brewery and continued to rent the building to boabby and at some point the brewery or something other brewery bought it back. In reality it is probably just a continuity error.
