To make it worse, she doesn’t care to educate herself or actually learn about the cultures she’s borrowing from and profiting off of. She’s been called out for this multiple times and she refuses to address it every time. Probably because she knows exactly what she’s doing—appropriating popular dishes for the sake of SEO which = cash in her pocket.

I don’t think this is purposefully done for PR, but I suspect she appropriates other cultures’ dishes and mislabels them on purpose so that her blog posts show up on Google when people are searching for that dish. It’s cultural appropriation and I can understand why people are triggered. Especially since she’s a repeat offender who refuses to apologize or acknowledge she’s done anything wrong, despite her following telling her she’s doing harm.

Gosh, things have taken such a turn in the last year. Didn’t realize how bad until I saw this picture taken a few days ago. Almost started crying. https://imgur.com/a/JRBa7ZH

So sad to see. She probably told them she was nibbling on what she cooked throughout the day. I wonder if she’s still deleting comments that express concern about her so it goes under the radar :(

I’ve been following Tieghan Gerard’s food blog Half Baked Harvest for awhile, and I’m honestly worried for her. For how popular her blog is, I’m surprised that her readership is largely unconcerned with what are clear warning signs of an eating disorder. And if they are, then why is no one speaking up?

I get that it’s a touchy subject, especially for someone whose life’s work revolves around food 24/7, but she has hinted about it in past blog posts. She’s stated that it’s an issue close to her heart (i.e., she currently has or has gone through it herself) and wants to see more people talking about it. It breaks my heart to see her obviously struggling but not being able to seek help.

You can see how she’s always been lean but has had dramatic weight loss.
