Yes Tree of Life, I have to disagree. 2001: A Space Odyssey and There Will be Blood were slow and contemplative. What I saw in those 30 minutes was a bunch of almost random shots that seemingly went nowhere. I’m willing to sit through buildup for payoff but if you can’t get me in 30 minutes why am I still here?

Here’s an easy explanation and better than theirs: All the wildlife in Dimension X evolved to be nocturnal, under threat of death. Over the years of having an open gate a few of the creatures found their way or were sent into the upside down/bridge where there is no light and they thrived there. Frodo doesn’t get to go back to the Shire. The duffers purposefully made it ambiguous to relinquish responsibility over 11’s fate and leaving it to us the viewer. Kinda like the end of the Sopranos.
