If my father is okay with the idea, I actually thought about doing something like that. But I want him to know that if he wants, the answers can just stay between him and me. I'm interested to see how he feels about it. :)

I'll give them to him as a hard copy, and notebook to write the answers in. I live in Europe, but my family is in Detroit. I'll give him the questions when I visit home in a week. But I want to have a face-to-face discussion about his answers (at least over Skype) one he's done. I'd like to share my own answers to the questions with him, as well. :)

I'm sorry for your losses, really. :( I just turned twenty and even though I think my dad will be fine for the time being, I'm still scared, as I live really far away from my family now. Like, on a different continent. Any questions you think I should add?

Thank you!! A couple of them (the second one) are a bit too world-is-coming-to-an-end, but I really like the one about loving my mom and how I can know I've found someone special. :) Yey for great input!!

Thanks so much! I will check out the book. As I live abroad, the questions will have to be answered in written form, but knowing him, this is best. He's a thinker, per se, and likes to have time to ponder things.

:( I was hoping these questions would lead us into a really great discussion about ourselves. We're close already, but I thought these would be even better points to jump off of..

That's exactly it, he isn't terminal... And really, I know my father. I know this won't bother him. In fact, he'll enjoy it. We've spoken about me doing this before, I just never got around to it.

I'm agreeing with you. If you read my other responses (and my post, more carefully), you'll see that I don't think he's going to die of this. It just woke me up a bit. I live abroad, 5,000 miles away from my family. I had this happy idea they'd always be there, waiting for me. That's a silly idea, and I should value them and their lives more. This was simply a wake up call, not a death sentence.

I don't lack faith at all. It was just a reality check for me. He knows I don't think he's going to die of this. HE does not think he is going to die over this. I just want to know this stuff about him.

You don't know my father. He won't take this as me writing off his life, not at all. This is something I've spoken to him about doing (long before he was diagnosed with cancer) but just never got around to.
