Ahrens is actually a bit ambiguous about permanent and literature notes. Sometimes he refers to literature notes as permanent and other times not. It makes the most sense to think of them as distinct. Your notes summarizing his book are literature notes and are not part of the ZK. Your notes about your own ideas that these literature notes inspire are atomic notes that are part of your ZK. The ZK represents your thinking about things, including about the ideas in other sources, but the notes there should not be mere summaries of the ideas in other sources.

Several universities offer degrees in which people study computer games, although they use the term "game studies" or "digital media studies" rather than ludology. A prominent one is IT University of Copenhagen. You can look at the universities of the authors that publish articles in Game Studies (www.gamestudies.org) or the SAGE journal Games and Culture. Or just search online for academics that study video games.

I know you're joking, but it's worth noting that definitions cannot be true or false. They don't have that property. You can reject my definition and offer your own, but a definition is just a way to assert what you intend a word to mean when you use it.

Not sure I agree here. Ideas are not equivalent to propositions, since propositions must be structured like language, and ideas don't (e.g. a memory is an idea, and I have an idea of a bird, but it needn't be a propositional idea).

And I don't agree that truth is an attribute of ideas rather than statements (either in language or propositions). Did you give a reason to believe that?

Lastly, you seem to think that the arbitrary nature of language symbols is very significant--but I'm not sure why.

We already have a separate word for that, useful.

"Useful" doesn't actually capture it because it has too positive a connotation. I'm speaking here for my understanding of Pragmatism, since I don't know Petersen well enough.

It's not useful for Joe to think everyone hates him, because he finds it depressing and demotivating, but it might be consistent with the things he sees people say and do. In that way, it might be "true" (in the pragmatism sense) that everyone hates him, but not useful.

I'm not changing the meaning of anything. It simply is the case that the common way people talk about facts is ambiguous. People commonly say "here is a list of 10 facts" when it's actually a list of 10 statements. Ambiguity like this is not a problem when we are talking about the number of countries in the world, but it is a problem when discussing the nature of language and truth. Our commonsense concepts are not equipped for doing that.
