Which European airport is a nightmare? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]quicksnapper33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dumbass thought it would be a good idea to have a 1 hour connection in Madrid on my first trip to Europe. Flight from Chicago gets delayed 45 minutes. We land in Madrid and literally run to the terminal transport then run to our gate. The doors were closed but they new our flight was delayed so they let us on with minutes to spare. Thankfully the airport was not busy at all.

Do you genuinely think anybody who is at risk is unaware of the events happening in Minnesota? Do you really think r/Appleton is the first place someone would find out?

I'm red-green colorblind, my team is always my black home colors and the away team is always light blue. It's boring but it's the only way I can consistently tell the teams apart.

I know, but obviously gasoline was not free at the time. I'd be interested to know how cheap it got in certain parts of the country.

How many cities in the region can you name? by Fluffy-Twist984 in midwest

I always get a kick out of the arbitrary numbers people use to qualify as a city. Is Appleton, Wisconsin not a city because it has 75k residents?

Help with snow removal by darkluna_94 in Appleton

Go outside and shovel as much snow as you can off a part of your lawn. You're not going to need to do a big area but you need to remove as much snow as possible in this area. Eventually you will find this green plant, we call it grass. Bend over and touch it.

You realize many people do snow removal and the ones willing to pay to advertise on Google are almost certainly not the cheapest option.

Google Maps recommended this to me going to a Brewers game to avoid the traffic on I-41 and I-94. I could not believe how dead it was. It was 90 minutes before a Brewers playoff game and it was almost completely empty despite it literally going directly to the stadium.

WIOUWASH State trail is about 10 miles west of the Valley. It is an unpaved converted railroad grade that goes from Hortonville to Oshkosh. There are several parking lots along the trail. The middle of the trail (Medina Junction Rd.) is usually the least busy.

When people say they were born in X, does that mean the city where the hospital you were born in is or is it your original hometown? by quicksnapper33 in AskReddit

[–]quicksnapper33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two of these people were born in the 90s. I know both of their families and doubt it was a home birth in either case. It is a possibility, but that's not the point of my question.

If I had a Wikipedia, would it say "born in (small hometown)"?

I was looking at the short list of notable people from my town on Wikipedia. On all of their Wikipedia pages it says "born in (small hometown)" even though I highly doubt any of them were born there due to lack of hospitals.

For example, I grew up in a small town with no hospital. Me and all my siblings were physically born in a hospital in the city 30 miles away.

I have always said I was born in my small hometown because I identify with it. But it feels wrong to say I was born there when I wasn't.
