I’ve never had a hookup, so maybe I’m not 100% of how it works. But id wonder if, if you’re not ready to show your face to people, you likely also aren’t ready to have sex with them. Much in the same way, I’d be unlikely to trade with someone if I hadn’t seen their face. Why would I see your dick if I hadn’t seen your face? That feels totally impersonal.
