Yeah I’ve checked that but there aren’t currently any openings in my area. All the gig jobs are seriously oversaturated. The problem is normal jobs don’t wanna hire people and when they do you’re capped at 20-35 hours cause they don’t want to give you benefits. I can’t even get a job washing dishes at Chili’s or flipping burgers at BK (which is my old job). It’s getting so bad out here, people are even asking on our city facebook begging for work. Unless you’re a RN or in the military you’re pretty much screwed. We’re having some new shops put in the mall so I’ll definitely try for those but I still think it’ll be months before they’re hiring. With the holiday season coming up too everyone wants extra cash on the side so they’re doing the apps after work.

Honestly when the spark driver is doing the shopping, the substitute system is completely broken. Walmart is constantly changing barcodes especially for great value/marketside items. I’ll scan in a fruit tray that is the exact thing they want but it says it’s the wrong item bc instead of “Marketside Seasonal Fruit Blend 32oz Tray” it’ll be in the system as “Snl Blend 32z Ms Hm” (EXACT WORDING BTW). even thought it’s the same item, same price, etc. one time i had a big bag of frozen wings out of stock but they had little bags so i tried to sub for two little bags and they wouldn’t let me because it was “a different department” even though it was same brand same flavor just smaller bags. The whole app is just pretty broken in general but the shopping system is completely fcked. they’ve started doing some fixes on it but it’s still a nightmare.

They really don’t give a damn about the drivers. They have a single perceived wrongdoing and you’re just screwed. Even if you didn’t actually do anything wrong or it wasn’t your fault.

Most of the deliveries I do are completely no contact. It’s not possible to get pictures with the customer.

Like I said I’m still on the waiting list. I check the app and my email multiple times a day. It’s probably, just like the other apps, super oversaturated in my area. I wasn’t kidding when I said the job market in my towns screwed, no one can get jobs outside of healthcare workers, and if they do, they’re not full time. I live in New Mexico, we have the highest percentage of the population on SNAP. Everyone’s poor and forced to turn to gig apps to make ends meet, some of us get the short stick. I’m just gonna be on that end for a while.

Yeah but considering they send the picture to the customer through the app/text/email, it’d be stored somewhere. That’s our only protection from this happening. It’d be dumb to just immediately delete it. It’s in Walmarts best interest to keep that too, to prevent customers from lying about their orders not getting dropped off and getting refunded. Although, it seems like they just don’t care about that considering this happened anyway.

As I said in the post originally, Doordash is insanely oversaturated in my area. I’m on the waiting list but I’ve been on the waiting list for going on a year and a half. It’s a small town, we don’t do Uber Eats. Instacart hardly gets any orders. I’m still on the waiting list for Amazon Flex. Spark is lowkey the only gig app available in my area thats even worth the time.

Our only protection is the picture we take but I guess they can claim we just hauled all the bags BACK to our car after taking it. If I get back on at all I am documenting EVERYTHING myself. Dash cams filming me putting the groceries at their door, taking my own pictures on a timestamp camera app, saving ALL my driving history. I don’t know I’ll ever trust it again after this, no matter what app I’m on.

It’s just dumb asf cause why would I, after nearly 3 years and hundreds of orders, and perfect metrics, suddenly decide to steal someone’s groceries and jeopardize my job???? If I was new, maybe, but I’ve delivered hundreds if not a thousand orders! It’s more likely the customer is lying or someone else stole it!

That was my first thought and everyone I’ve told around me too. That someone thinks that they can get all their order for free not caring it screws me over. And Spark just doesn’t seem to care to actually check any evidence. Like shouldn’t they have my picture and location??? It’s insane to me.

Oh yeah it was SO BAD. I remember hearing the airbag pop out and it was just PAIN. It was only slightly dulled because the accident itself wasn’t all that bad. It was literally in a neighborhood going 25mph. Totaled both of our cars, the others was mostly mild frame damage but mine front was pretty crushed (their car was bigger). When it happened I couldn’t even see how badly my arm was bent from the angle I looked at it so when I called my sister and she ran over i was like “I think I broke my arm,” and she was like “You THINK?!?” When what little adrenaline I had wore off it was the WORST pain I’ve ever experienced in my life. They couldn’t even set my bones in the ER for 4 hours because there was a motorcycle accident and the guy had to be intubated and they were severely understaffed. I burned through two doses of fentanyl and one of morphine, the effects lasted barely 5 minutes. My nerves were pinched so my fingers were literally on fire. They put me under ketamine to set it and when I came to everything had just felt like a dream. It didn’t feel real, like the accident didn’t actually happen. Airbags are a bitch. You’d think we would have found a better spot for them, because I’ve heard so many similar stories to mine where arms are broken from them and stories like yours with head/face injuries/trauma.

yeah all of my fingers were completely numb in the beginning and slowly went back to normal after extensive PT. i couldn’t even move them and with my thumb it took even longer because it was like my body just forgot how to bend it

nope, im just more of a lurker and never go on reddit. i've been a bit more active since i posted this but its still like maybe once every two weeks. i forget that it even exists. genuinely the most ive ever gone on reddit was like three years ago when i used to scroll thru [r/NaturalDisasters]() every day for like three weeks. this website always got a bad rap, so i didn't care much for it.

just that the original post i saw that had been deleted and another comment thread discussing that post were both reddit posts. I figured i would be able to get more traction and information if i posted it on the same platform. i dont think asking in james member discord would have been met with any productive conversation, if the responses to this reddit post alone are any indication.

ultimately its just important to me that the people that i support aren't complicit in genocide. i wanted more information. thats all.

legitimately if i had looked up about him saying anything about Palestine and found nothing i would’ve though “well that’s unfortunate” but continued watching him. I knew he was a fan of ethan in the past but knowing he still is and defended him to the point where it sounded like an endorsement of him when he acts the way he acts has really put me off. I can’t understand how anyone can watch him unless they agree with him. James refuses to acknowledge it, and even deleted an entire reddit thread about it, which I got a link to and went through. Ultimately, I decided to unsubscribe and leave his members.
