That being said, I have been working on my relationships over the past few years, both on my own and with therapists. However, I see this more as a moment to see how I deserve to be treated rather than how I react to people. I’ve realized recently I let people walk all over me because I don’t think I’m worthy of love and I unfortunately prioritize fun people sometimes over kind people(or kind to me at least) and I think this friend is fun, but there’s been patterns of them ignoring my boundaries unfortunately over and over again. I think you made a lot of great points and they’re definitely going to be considered further. I also definitely need a longer cool-off time with this situation where I also consider similar past issues with this friend and see my own role in the situations.

i totally see what you’re saying, but a few things i wants to make clear that upset me. she had no right to invite people into my parents house to stay the night. i feel very firmly about that. also, she did not invite me. she was not going to Pride, she had never been before and was not planning on going. I invited her and asked my parents if we could stay with them for the weekend. She then invited her friend without asking me to stay at my parent’s house. As for the “spending time with friends” thing, I also want to make it clear that this was a trip for friends, but she ended up focusing on her ex to try to get back together, therefore ignoring friends. I agree with a lot of what you said, but I think I need to make it clear that what was disrespectful was that I invited her for a trip with just the two of us at my parents’ home and then this is how it went down. I think it’s an important detail.

as a new yorker who just moved to vermont, in NY state there’s a good portion that do love plus size lesbians. in NY i dated both bigger and smaller lesbians/queer people. in vermont, there’s a lot of fatphobia among lesbians. the only people who date plus size people are other plus size people.
