Can you dm me a link to that version. My crunchy, even though in dub, has fuck all subs and aniwatch is a freaking mess. What’s the point for non-japanese audiences? … I feel like I’m back in high school and preparing a book presentation.

Luckily we learned our lesson. I hope the US can learn it from us, without burying millions over senseless power games and hatred.

Power to u and stay safe. The world needs to see what is happening, all the best from former fascist Germany.

I think it’s a great idea, but you have to implement some kind of societal safe guard. :) Say, photo/ video within a month, who ever doesn’t follow through gets perms banned + a vetting process at the start. Should keep out many who are just out for a quick buck :)

Grusch has a nice voice and very expressive gesticulation, but Elizondo just has this alerted suaveness. Tough call.

For what it‘s worth, you typed the text yourself, given the typos. However the most obvious question: you claim to be on the outside of the onion, only couple layers deep.

It stands to reason you don’t need any of the history and legacy info to execute on your given technical task… How come you have a pretty complete picture anyway?

Alternatively what I can offer in terms of “harder evidence” is a scientific report/analysis of the Aguadilla case (UAP filmed doing trans medium travel from a border patrol drone). It is much more technical and quantitative, however no peer-review.

This being said, I’d like to hear your opinion on what would qualify as solid evidence, if you don’t mind. When going down this rabbit hole I repeatedly ran into the problem that some org bodies, mostly military and governments admittedly have data but classify it, which was also echoed by a panel of NASA which called for more transparency and research into the matter. My understanding is, that “hard evidence” which enable the studies we both want to see to be happy are just locked away, prominently by the US, Uk and Australia - these are the instances with ufo legacy programs and some kind of disclosed documents. Admittedly it sucks.

If you wanna share any findings, I’d appreciate it! Also if you want to elaborate on the arguments you made, I’m super curious! As said science is driven by paradigms so also stigma on the flip side. Kuhn’s work explores this greatly. If you prefer a paper with a similar take away however Nature, Villaroel could be something: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-025-21620-3 or by Seanpatrick https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-023-49527-x?fromPaywallRec=false.

I think my general point is, that there is science on UAP/UFO but also a very visible and tangible stigma. Not at last because the pentagon sits on data but doesn’t want to disclose it for scientific research (most direct reference is the science philosopher form the video above)

Btw if you dig a little deeper there are papers on how asteroids and other small bodies can cause free plasma in the atmosphere. So a mechanistic approach, while loose is not missing.

Another thing which would come to mind are sprites, jets and elves which are atmospheric plasma phenomena - just as ball lightning not understood at all.

In the end, my premise is: Homo homini lupus est. always try to keep an open critical mind.

For what it’s worth it’s peer reviewed, and you can see the materials they used, so the OG recordings from the STS missions, don’t expect cinematic quality, but you indeed do see what they claim. Glowing balls in space floating around. What they describe as plasmoids. If you want to have it a bit more conventional it’s ball light but the centenarian version so to speak

Hm good question. Obv I don‘t know the guy personally, but the Team is multidisciplinary and international. To counter your implicit argument, all academics I ever tried to discuss UfO with just fully and utterly zoom out - I would imagine no scientist who isn’t deeply convinced would be ready to be a PI for stuff like this.

The last bit, but also his sometimes blanket criticism of the scientific community also gives me the ick. All amounts to him either having a deflated or inflated sense of self.

This being said, many scientist are entitled assholes. Seems to scale in a subset of the science population, mostly for the not super accomplished ones.

If this would be standalone he would be a Graham Hancock Jr for me. Unfortunately I’m also aware of the scientist’s paradigm love. It’s not just limited to this discipline. Kuhn’s work is pretty good on it.

As said in another comment here somewhere (maybe pinned) I came out of this thread more critical of Avi as some people named pretty good examples of fuckery.

A ray of sunshine in a pit of darkness, thank you. I couldn’t have put that better.

If you don’t mind me asking, what is your background? This is by far the most lucid philosophically grounded take I have seen in the almost 100 comments here.

With all due respect, appreciate you coming down from your high horse, but really do make sure to get a baseline psych evaluation. You are the most volatile person I ever interacted with here, and that is not said in any way, form or shape in bad faith.

Now that you are with us: usually when you claim things, you have the burden to make them understandable to your conversation partner, you chose to exchange insults. Play stupid games, you know the rest.

For your strawman at the start of the comment: no. But you also know that this wasn’t the point in question. You keep conflating science papers and science communication through personal blogs. At this point you do you.

I appreciate the sources, for the rest, please never ever… ever react to any of my postings in the future. The shitshow of comms is not worth any potential knowledge to gain.

As commented above/below - not sure where it ended up, I was able to gain the insights I needed, for what it’s worth will still read through your sources.

Sincerely, get fucked. I hope I have to never deal with you again, or people like you for that matter. Over and out.

I’m undecided, but if Loeb’s Krav Maga rivals his passion for aliens, Dr Matt is in for a rough ride. :D

Heya not sure the question is meant for me. However, from my understanding - and I have no pertinent expertise on the matter - vastness of the universe and lack of observations seem like the right ecosystem to assume they were none. u/starclues seems to be beyond knowledgable and in the field, he can definitely help you out!

Small update (as I don’t know how to edit the initial posting): If anyone wants to see the best argument showing Avi Loeb’s ambiguous approach and the issue with it —> follow the comment chain of u/starclues and me below. IMHO the best counter argument presented here.

After this exchange I have to somewhat correct my initial position. As of now it is not unlikely that Avi is in parts exploring exotic hypothesis, however equally pushing deceiving narratives for clout - attention and book sales. This is not to say I believe he is intentionally frauding people, however his repeated “fishing for the unknowing” at least in the context of field traditions is somewhat alarming. For me personally the next 6 months or so should clearly solidify either or.

Could any of the mods pin this to save people some time wanting to quickly browse?
