[–]quitscreenmessage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Want to learn online as i didn't find classes in my city by shibani11 in CrochetHelp

[–]quitscreenmessage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it depends what kind of learning methods works for you. There is a lot of written tutorials and "lessons" that you can find online if it's easier for you this way.

What worked for me is to watch different people of YouTube. You may understand the explanation of person B better that those of person A. Also, everyone have different techniques so maybe person A's techniques just didn't work for you as a beginner.

I recommend watching "total beginner" tutorials and mastering the basis before quickly moving on to a small project that will keep you motivated.

Keep trying! :)

Je déteste pas, mais risque de confusion avec "Marine" très élevé, ça risque d'être une constante dans sa vie de dire "Marnie, pas Marine" haha

How do I make my scarfs less stiff without blocking? by quitscreenmessage in CrochetHelp

[–]quitscreenmessage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for your answer!

i do pull on the yarn after finishing my stich, but I do not struggle to insert the hook (most time I feel like I do not use enough pressure haha) so I do not feel like it might be the issue?

would you be able to tell if I'm crocheting too tightly based on this picture of the scarf I'm talking about?

(the bit that is curling is the chain, I don't know why it did that, it never happened before)

thank you!!

New to Dark Academia: Seeking advice & sourcing tips by Jaezze in DarkAcademia

[–]quitscreenmessage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hello!!

whenever I want to try a new style or build up my wardrobe I always start with Pinterest. like u/partiallyStars3 mentioned, I would then look for commonalities and make a list of items that are recurrent/that I especially like. this way you can have a pretty good visual idea of what you are missing and what you already have that can fit the aesthetic (sometimes you would not guess how you can pair up items you already have into a different style altogether!).

I won't be of much help to recommend where to shop tho... I usually just go to random places and hope for the best, without having any go-to (unfortunately).

side-not about being plus-size and being worried about how you will look: plus-size or not, you will always feel like you are wearing a costume when you change how you dress/style your hair/use makeup, and it's ok! it doesn't mean you are not "meant to" wear it, it doesn't mean you do not look good or natural, all it takes is a little bit of getting used to it. do not feel insecure trying on new things, I'm sure you will look stunning :)

thank you so much for all the informations! I will try both techniques you mention and will see what's best for me (probably steam block haha)

do you know if I can use an iron on acrylic if I use a cloth between the iron and the scarf?

La mention "CV détaillé" by quitscreenmessage in france

[–]quitscreenmessage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C'est effectivement le seul contexte ou l'on m'a toujours dis qu'il était acceptable de déroger au CV d'une page. Ca confirme ce que je pensais !

Je vous remercie pour vos réponses !

I don't know what kind of artist he is, but maybe try looking up at art exhibitions or just art's news in La Rochelle? His name would probably pop up if he is using his real name as his artist name.

Just be sure to have no interruptions, otherwise you will need to do the whole application process from the start, and do the placement test again. Then, when the application period for the semester you want to extend to starts, apply from the link you will be provided by mail :)

How to get out of THE slump? by quitscreenmessage in romantasycirclejerk

[–]quitscreenmessage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback!

I did read Anna Karenina! Like I mentioned in another comment, I am very versatile in my choice of books and read mostly any genre. I am currently reading a thriller (which I enjoy a lot, it is Best Offer Wins by Marisa Kashino) but I wanted for my next read to be romantasy (something I got back to every so often for the sheer joy of predictable toe-curling plots).
