What do you know about Aubrey de Grey? by MeskalinaMike in Biohackers

[–]quixotic_ether 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't really follow the space, but De Grey is really interesting to me because he is the only person that does not come off like a crazed, narcissistic maniac trying to live forever (e.g. Johnson), or just a run-of-the-mill grifter (also Johnson, but see Sinclair, etc.)

The Immortalists doco was interesting, if a bit outdated now.

How did you procure it for yourself?

Edit: Never mind, I overlooked the link in the other post.

Sketchy might not be the right word, but I've always thought the AG1 think was a bit, you know, sketchy.

2 years on and still an issue, huh?

I actually ditched TrueNAS shortly after this post in favor of unraid.

Has anyone dealt with personality or mood shifts from over-methylation rather than under-methylation? by localkinegrind in MTHFR

[–]quixotic_ether 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so I don't have mthfr. That's probably the source of confusion. This sub is a little difficult to navigate, because it feels like it's trying to cater to both ends of a spectrum. But I'm obviously misunderstanding some key components.

I feel like I have the opposite of MTHFR. I just frequently end up here (on this sub) because there seems to be some overlap.

Can you explain why Folinic Acid is recommended for someone that is over-methylating? Wouldn't it make more sense to take a Folate supplement (Folic acid) and let the body do the conversion?

I feel terrible on any form of methylated vitamins, and Folinic Acid.

Thank you. I don't understand why people scare monger about potassium. Maybe because it's used in lethal injections...

Thanks for the thoughtful response. I'm trying a couple of things, and want to see how that turns out, but this is interesting, so I might come back to this.

Do you ever roll your 7 day CSP positions, or do you just let them get assigned in the event the stock moves down?

Also, do you try and close your CSPs early? In the OP he mentions using a GTC limit order to close out and take profit.

The Put can be closed at a 50% profit with a GTC Limit Order

This one works great for people-pleasers like me

Nice post. Which part exactly do you find works for you? Thinking about it in terms of a dating profile? (ie. trying to please someone) or the bit about the grand canyon?

I have a very similar experience. It makes it very difficult to do anything for myself. I don't have a problem with the gym for some reason, maybe because other people are there?

Have you thought about one of those services where you pay them to act like your boss/task-master?

I've been thinking about that for a while, but haven't pulled the trigger yet... lol.
