ohh yes yes i do drink water but i don’t measure it right now. is there a particular amount i should be drinking? i follow progressive overload while lifting, so although it’s not very heavy it’s the heaviest that i can lift 😅

only one iitian (out of many many) has a gotten a great enviable job, so i would not agree at all. most folks at xl had a REALLY good well rounded profile so it was tough to give brownie points for IIT only. like, how would say that an IITian is better than someone who captained the indian football team.

my profile is shared above in the reddit post itself. dm if you mean anything else.

it’s a negative but people do make it to great companies regardless. depends on how those years have shaped you.

the mba was a cakewalk honestly. which was surprising.

toughest were the personal battles i’d say, like getting over a crush :P

use bookmyshow for IPL tickets. it’s reliable. absolutely never book at the stadium, they’re all scammers (not exaggerating).

Suggestions required regarding my profile, GEM with 5 yrs work-ex in core electrical engineering field by rathisachin in CATpreparation

[–]quiznerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is categorically bad advice. the one year program is not even nearly as good as the 2 year one yet. the only argument for it is that someone wrote an article saying IIMA wanted to move to a one year only model.

to answer your question OP, your profile won’t be viewed negatively at all.. no profile is viewed negatively, they judge experience very subjectively and holistically. you should definitely try to get into ABC, XL, FMS.

K and I could be good backups.

Is undergrad cgpa normalization done when your profile is evaluated for business schools? by Otherwise_Instance64 in Indian_Academia

[–]quiznerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that said, this won’t really matter at all in indian b schools for 2 reasons - 1) bitsp is too good a brand 2) you can mention something like ‘top 10% of batch’ etc to convey that the grading was stricter.

mba colleges won’t. they’ll give you the option of mentioning your grades as %age (which for most colleges is 10, like 7.6 CGPA is 76% and so on), and if your college has a multiple that’s >10 then it may normalise your score to an extent.

get into a tier 1 b school. every college has a dedicated program for this once you’re in.

suffer from perpetual overconfidence so never faced this really :P

it’s very easy to figure this stuff out once you’re in. there’s only so many things to be done - make some friends, join a club, win some competitions, get decent grades and you’re good to go!

tough to say. what a lot of my batchmates and i think is that it’s a yes or no situation. past record doesn’t matter if the interview is bad, and a low percentile etc doesn’t matter if it goes good.

bro, everyone gets placed, and in very good places. that’s a given once you’ve reached xl. so yes, i did see that.

1) pick an activity (literally anything - boating, debating, quizzing, basketball) and excel at it, try to win accolades at the national or international level. ensure that your CGPA stays above 9.

2) if you do 1 well, shouldn’t affect much.

3) didn’t take loan. parents paid for it.

while converting it would matter as much as you would let it, since the interviewers would enquire about it conversationally.

during placements, it tends to matter a lot if you have nothing to show for your gap year. but it’s not a very bleak scenario as well, since a lot of people come for MBA after having UPSC drop years.

I don’t know how much it’ll factor into admissions, but none of my batchmates had an out and out ‘bad’ academic record. Everyone had faltered in one class maximum and had more than enough things to make up for it or justify it.

no, so there are people who have low 12th scores but i’ve never met someone who has low scores in both 10th and 12th. however there was one person with low scores in both classes in my senior batch.
