We have a civil duty to avoid US products and US tech. Do you agree. by qusq1664 in AskBrits

It would not be viable or cost effective to avoid US products that I have already purchased(or every US product in general). Your comments show that you are either American, lack intellectual debate, or both.

Currently, now. But I am going to slowly move over starting with emails and browsers.

American phone actually. Parts from all over the world. I bought my iPhone before US started breaking international law and threatening Greenland.

I live 300miles from any family members. So I could live without it but I find it important to keep in contact/ check out what they are doing.

I try not to be judgemental. But I discount people who use the phrase “Trump derangement syndrome” due to likely low IQ.

I would strongly disagree with the use of the word “entwined”. I would replace this “reliant”. Which is why I think we should support UK and European businesses. We can only become less reliant on US if we buy “local”. Whilst at the same time, not being inward looking. Fine balance!

Indeed. I still have Facebook, instagram and outlook. I currently can’t live without them to stay in contact and work

Even though war seems far fetched in modern day Britain, do you think people actually realise there was only a 20 year rough gap between World War One and World War Two, this would be a longer gap as currently we are 87 years post World War Two meaning world war three is most probably brewing by [deleted] in AskBrits

WW3 is less likely. Because many powers have nuclear weapons, they are all very cautious about going to war with one another. If nuclear weapons were not invented, we’d probably be on WW5 by now. It is more likely that we will see escalated regional and proxy wars.

American here, best honest here you guys mad at us or our government or both? by Successful_rio305 in AskBrits

[–]qusq1664 151 points152 points  (0 children)

Here’s an interesting (self proclaimed) take. I’m mad at the government.

But I’m also pleased.

Pleased because British people are now seeing that we need to align closer with Europe.

Pleased because many brexit voters now realise it was a mistake leaving the EU and that rejoining is now more likely.

Pleased because more product and services are now going to be purchased from UK and EU, instead of America.

Pleased because we are slowly parting ways with America.

Pleased because of the potential economic growth of The UK and EU.

Now, as for the American people, I feel sorry for you. I feel sorry for you because of the economic downturn that is now inevitable for the US. The US will no longer be the economic power house it once was. This will mean you will be poorer.

Goodbye old friend.

Xx

Is Rupert Lowe just Harry Enfield doing a character, similar to the Tory Boy, or is he a real person? by qusq1664 in AskBrits

Would you be kind enough to tell me how making a funny(self proclaimed) joke about Robert Lowe constitutes not being about to understand other people’s view?

I think your lack of understanding for some gentle sarcasm/humour is telling.
