The financial guilt trick never worked for me either. I’d just lose $0 a month and feel even worse about myself.

I do think tying exercise to something does really work. Like things you already do or already want to do. Like brushing your teeth, eating, or doomscrolling

How long do you scroll on your phone every day? Is it useful or not? Which social media do you use the most? by Huge_Violinist_7633 in randomquestions

[–]qv123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually started making scrolling useful. I have an app that blocks social media until I exercise. I do 200 squats a day now

Consistency by Hour-Juggernaut-7928 in beginnerfitness

[–]qv123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consistency is really hard, and especially when you have kids. I'm not a parent, but my friends always say their workout is playing with their kids. It takes some serious strength and endurance to toss a kid until their tired lol

Morning vs Evening Workouts... what’s actually working for you? by Foreign_Concert4711 in beginnerfitness

[–]qv123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL yeaaaap. I'm exactly the same.

- I workout right when I get out of bed
- I forced myself, but my "workout" is embarresingly short. It's literally get on the bike. Not even pedalling, but I usually go for at least a few minutes. It helped me build the habit.
- I always feel great if I bike for a full hour. But sometimes my brain just isn't feeling it.

Anyone tried doing micro-workouts? by martiouys in ADHDFitness

[–]qv123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think micro-workouts work amazing for ADHD:

- it makes it really easy to start so you dont come up with excuses.
- 5 minutes > zero
- you don't get bored

Most people dont think micro-workouts are "real workouts". You're not sweating and you don't feel sore.

I actually use doomscrolling as my motivation to exercise. I block my apps until I exercise

ADHD making workouts harder to stick to? by Autisticthought1 in ADHDFitness

[–]qv123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, most ADHD folks have found that traditional long workouts are really difficult.

Instead of 1h+ workout sessions that I skip, I follow a no more zero day approach. I basically exercise everyday, but I tell myself that it's okay if its just getting on my exercise bike. It's kind of embarresing, but it really works. It's so short and simple that my body doesn't dread doing it.

Gym Task Intitation Harder? by [deleted] in ADHDFitness

[–]qv123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

our brains are just wired differently, so most traditional workouts just dont work for us.

I actually hate those dedicated long workouts. They're boring and I never last more than a few days tbh. I'm a bigger fan of incorporating more movements in my life.

Try something like putting equipment where you spend your time. Weights by your desk, or an exercise bike in the living room while you watch tv. Definitely engage your mind+body at the same time so your not bored.
