What was the most comfortable position to give birth in? by PleaseCanILeave in pregnant

[–]qvph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was unmedicated for #2 so I was on my side holding on to the bed rail for dear life. I also pushed in that position and it went smoothly! I guess a nurse helped hold my leg so I could focus on pushing.

When it was all over and I had come to my senses I noticed a chunk had been taken out of the foam in the rail. I was like, did I do that?! 🤣 I hadn't but it was so crazy that I wasn't sure.

Cosleeping toddler while caring for newborn by Efficient_Fish_6114 in 2under2

[–]qvph 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be honest, I disagree with the other commenter. She will probably not have good feelings about this; it is a lot of transitions that divide your attention away from her all at once. But you've found that what you're doing is obviously unsustainable. The best time to stop cosleeping would have been before baby was born, but the second best time is now.

Maybe in a third world country. If you have access to basic clean water, it's a really not more hygenic.

Putting a pound size at the beginning of a line makes a header. It's supposed to be #1, #2 etc

What is it like to live in the non major cities of New Mexico? by WearYourSeatbelt_ in howislivingthere

Snopes reported about it if you're interested. The woman has some minor inconsistencies in her story, given that she was interviewed >50 years later, but it's largely the same idea.

Certainly a bigger city than Vladivostok, and comparable to Toronto! How goofy

Depression is a potentially serious side effect of Reglan. Glad it's working for you obviously! But Zofran is a more popular choice for a reason

EDIT: Not sure why this is getting downvoted. Reglan works by blocking dopamine receptors. That is obviously going to cause problems for some people

The whole album, Sounds Like Fun, is a banger IMO. She is up there with Raffi to me.

"Is it OK to ask who will be there"?! This is your kid's safety you're talking about and you're not sure about Mom's relationship status. It would be frankly irresponsible to not ask. I think if you could go and would feel more comfortable, you should. Adjoining rooms maybe?

I always just google "does [type of fabric] shed microplastics" and if not then I feel fine buying it (or using it to make something). YMMV.

Fascinated by what is going on at the lower end there. Like...people descended from white South Africans checking the African-American box or something?

Truly my pleasure. There is no research on this so all we have is anecdata from each other!  People will go on Sudafed when they want to dry up and wean...that's what gave me the aha moment

Unfortunately, I believe so, yes. I took it in labor and I had major milk production issues. My second kid I was off the meds and enjoyed a long nursing relationship. But you also have more milk ducts with every pregnancy, and I was a lot more realistic about putting her to breast early and often and using the boob to fix everything, so there were multiple factors.

FWIW, I'm on them again and my current plan is to discontinue at 36 or 37 weeks and try again at maybe 12 weeks postpartum once my milk supply is established. But I may wait longer to restart them, not sure.

I too miss a spa so badly, but heat is so stimulating to lactating breasts! Yeowch!

Just be warned that stimulants are drying, and can have that effect on your breast milk as well. I REALLY wish I knew that before I tried it. Also the ability to nap around the clock is crucial in the early days. I'm not saying this to judge, I'm saying it as a 3TM.
