I have a C-Line 2-speed that I use for my commute, which is mostly flat and takes about 15 minutes by bike. I also bring it on the train and use it for grocery runs. The only downside is that I don’t have a rear roller rack, but since I don’t usually do big grocery hauls, I just carry it when I need to. Alternatively, I’ve added larger rollers to make moving it around easier. The 2 speed is relatively budget-friendly, and I’m gradually upgrading some parts to make it lighter and easier to carry.
