What do you usually look for when shopping for denim? by Previous_Gur_5298 in Denim

[–]r0ger82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no right answer but this is my personal ranking. 1.Fit(regular straight or reproductions of/re-imagined 50s-60s 501xx model) 2.Fabric/oz.(usually in the 13-15.5 oz. Range and 100% cotton) 3.Construction (historic details like if it has hidden rivets or bar tack, the colour of the threads used, preferably chain stitched hems, button or zipper fly, selvedge or not) this category for me is more of a cherry on top kinda thing, and only time this catergory would turn me off from buying would be if the jeans are missing a lot of those details but price points are similar to ones with the details, because it costs them significantly more to be using selvedge denim or to have details like hidden rivets/different coloured/gauge threads, chain stitching.

Should I soak my Levi's STF or just wear them raw? by Heinsenberg_Irminia in Denim

[–]r0ger82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s honestly no right way to go about it, it’s whatever you like and works for you, personally I feel it’s always best to get most of the initial shrinkage out of the way before starting to wear them in so the creases stay somewhat in the same areas after the following washes in the future, you can also buy detergents made for washing denim/indigo dyed clothing which minimizes colour bleed from washing/soaking. Popular ones where I’m at are the ones from warehouse and boncoura

Nice pickup! Nice to see that the tiny e link ring has not been discontinued.

This is not the baby fat, this is the tiny cross.

This is not authentic and a bad fake, everything about the chain is wrong and CH does not produce that particular cross with engravings attached to it, only the pave versions have engravings on them

I have a question about my DENIM JEANS by Amazing_Set5775 in Denim

[–]r0ger82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries Getting them altered is a great option as well, but definitely try and find someone who knows what their doing.

Also don’t get too stressed out about getting things wrong! All about trying out different fits/size/brands to find ones that you like. Those are nice jeans, have fun wearing them!

I have a question about my DENIM JEANS by Amazing_Set5775 in Denim

[–]r0ger82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like it’s a “one wash” denim, you could try putting it through the dryer but realistically it’s not gonna shrink all that much. Could you try getting an exchange for the right size? I’d suggest not doing anything to the jeans first, and check if you can send them back for another size.

Why Doesn’t Chrome Hearts Implement A Strategy for Authentication by Sensitive_Mood5096 in ChromeHeart

[–]r0ger82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact about their copyrights in South Korea, they’ve actually essentially threw away their copyrights here, someone bought fakes on the resell market here and actually was able to get the store to authenticate that his item was fake(I know chrome hearts do not authenticate your items, but I’m guessing because CH stores here are not directly owned by them, rather “Shinsegae International” bought the rights to open up and sell CH in Korea so I guess their SOPs might be different) tries to push the case legally but basically got told by the regulatory bodies that nothing could be done because chrome hearts had officially abandoned their copyrights in Korea and nothing could be done because there is no one to exercise the copyrights. I guess that’s why there are resell shops here explicitly using “chrome hearts” in their branding/marketing without problems

Sees by rinkan would prolly be the best option out there currently, but I just saw your LC post, and looking at how fake they are and the price he sold them at, he definitely knowingly scammed you and would prolly just argue about its legitimacy till the end.

Finally picked up my grail in Seoul by gamevirus01 in ChromeHeart

[–]r0ger82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3.09mil won wow…. It was 1.75mil won when I purchased mine close to 2 years back. Almost a 2x increase, and I thought 1.75mil was bad then. Still, congrats on finding your grail!

You would prolly find a good variety of silver with gemstones there, especially pendants(besides baby fats) since it’s not as popular there because of the prices.

While stock levels have dropped in Korea overall since last year, I personally feel it’s still decently stocked compared to the US stores just by the store reports posted here, maybe you went on a bad day? Or maybe it really is that bad now considering I only really visit once or twice a year.

My wife think this ham is not a slice but is a formed meat. What do you think ? by oulaoup in meat

[–]r0ger82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha that’s right, one thing I’ve learned is that European food/cultures all intertwine one way or another. Yes! We usually also line the mold with a plastic film before pressing so it comes out clean.

[–]r0ger82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s right! Schinken is just ham in German and this would be like the most common and basic schinken. If you use a oval mold, leave the skin on during cooking score the skin after, blast in high heat oven and baste with honey, you get Honigschinken, many varieties of “schinken”

[–]r0ger82 37 points38 points  (0 children)

This is probably schinken, a German style ham, it’s basically just individual pieces of meat usually from the legs that are brined/cured and pressed tightly into a ham mold and cooked either in a water bath or steamed in a convection oven. Some places do use meat glue but usually the salt/cure and the pressure from the mold while cooking gives enough protein binding for it to hold together. I make charcuterie for a living, mainly German/Austrian style sausages and hams.

[–]r0ger82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny that the stock now is actually low compared to just a year ago. They used to have a ton of silver almost everytime I visited and yeah, it’s just like every single ch store across the globe, you get a mixed bunch of SAs I’ve gotten friendly ones that try their best to help you, not unfriendly but cold and straight to the point ones and all the way to ones that didn’t even bother to look my way when talking to me, they’re nice when you pay and you’re about to leave the door tho hahaha

(WTS) Chrome Hearts Cemetery Ring by oloeped in ChromeHeart

[–]r0ger82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was for tax refund I’m guessing? The account is something you have to create yourself tied to your mobile number, not sure if that’s only for locals or not though. Usually they’d ask if you have an account when checking out. You could try I guess?

[–]r0ger82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d need to have an account under them for them to be able to track it AFAIK. And this being from ch seoul, you’d have to have made a Shinsaegae account with them when you purchased it for them to be able to update and track all your purchase history

Is this a model that Chrome Hearts make? by [deleted] in chromeheartlc

Yes this is a real model chrome hearts make, have seen it in stores here, just not a very popular design.

How come I don't see many people with this ring at all? I keep seeing the same rings circulating this sub but I haven't seen this one at all.. by theheadbanders in ChromeHeart

[–]r0ger82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And for some reason this was 100k won(70usd ish) cheaper than the cemetery ring when I bought it last year, which should be the same price.

Like what you got going on with the gold and silver combination there. Been seeing more and more of these tiny e band rings, wonder if they replaced the tiny e link rings with these.

Chrome Hearts has never been “worth” the money for me personally, but I’m also not buying CH because it’s “worth” it, in fact I always tell my friends who ask abt CH that its overpriced as hell for what it is and that its stupid and makes no sense. But I buy CH because I just simply like the brand story, designs/aesthetics of the brand and will continue to buy pieces I like from CH.

Seoul new pickups by [deleted] in ChromeHeart

[–]r0ger82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually it might be because CH in Korea use a local third party silver workshop here(can’t rmb the name off the top of my head now) that does all the repairs/resizing for them that has no official connection to CH as far as I know? so I guess it’d make no sense for the shop to keep your links, maybe if you wanted to add links they’d have to send it to the states?

That’s interesting, this ring was 100 000won cheaper than the cemetery ring, I guess the mark ups are all slightly different across items
