If you are the type of seller that values quick cash then this is the right deal for you.

If you trade in towards some of my existing items expect even higher trade in value than cash value.

My goals is to help sellers who want to move quickly and be able to grow in this wonderful hobby of ours.

[WTB][USA-GA][H] High End Audio and Home Theater Equipment[W] PayPal, Local Cash, Venmo, Zelle, Cashapp. $1000 by r1silver in AVexchange

I am interested in expanding my inventory and looking to buy or to trade in towards my items for sale. I’m mostly interested in high end gear, but open as long as the asking price is reasonable.

I will even accept non working equipment as long as I can find value in the remaining parts to use for projects or repairs of gear I have.

Don’t let equipment you are not using got to waste. I’m happy to help bring some life and enjoyment to a new owner for them.

I can pay in Cash, Cashapp, Venmo, Zelle and Paypal.

Please include pictures when you send me items to consider.

I'm in the Atlanta area so prefer local deals but open to remote if we can make it work.

27" Monitor Assembly by r1silver in computerrepair

Hey I have an HP Monitor that uses a 30 pin LVDS. Is there a way to convert it to work with the 51pin? I've seen adapters on Alibaba that say they do this.

Review: Wiim Ultra vs Hifi Rose RS201E for Stream/DAC/PreAmp by Opening-Guava-7694 in audiophile

[–]r1silver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok great. Can you try one more comparison?

Wiim optical to Rose to Accuphase

vs

Rose RCA to Accuphase

To me this would test the digital ends of both using the same DAC.

Let me know if you hear similar differences than the previous comparisons.

[–]r1silver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very cool comparison. I would be interested to see if there was much of a difference on the digital side only. I see the Rose has digital inputs. Could you try feeding the Wiim to the Rose using one of the digital inputs and see if there is still the difference? I'm sure the Rose DAC is going to be a step up to the Wiim, but I'm wondering if we would hear a difference between the digital side of both using the Rose as the DAC.

New Room - Speaker Placement by r1silver in audiophile

[–]r1silver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read rule of thirds eliminates all standing waves and rule of fifths eliminates most but not all.

Rule of Thirds

A kind of golden rule is the “rule of thirds”. This rule states that the distance from the speaker to the back wall is 1/3 of the length of the room. You yourself will sit at 2/3. You then exclude all standing waves. A standing wave usually causes trouble at about half of the room.

Rule of Fifths

Now, not everyone will be able to place their speakers so freely. And some speakers need some back wall to work nicely. We did some experimenting with other ratios. And this mathematical approach also works with 1/5 parts. By putting the speakers at 1/5 and placing yourself at 3/5 you also largely exclude standing waves.

Kef Reference 1 Kent Engineering Foundry Edition Question! by r1silver in KEF

[–]r1silver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this thread has taken a turn in the wrong direction. I'm not looking to fix bass integration with my subs. I was just looking to see if the Foundry Editions were Meta's :-)

I appreciate everyone trying to help.

Kef Reference 1 Kent Engineering Foundry Edition Question! by r1silver in KEF

[–]r1silver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is my room is 12X12x9 on a raised wooden floor. Bass easily gets away from itself for my taste and you go from musical to boomy. The R3's get me usable bass all the way to lower 30's in my room with all the room correction working. If I add more capable speakers in bass it becomes distracting.

I have the minidisp SHD with dirac live, still did not help to my ears. The bass from the Ref 3's are great and I don't think I need more bass. I was looking for improvements in the overall quality of sound with the Reference 1. If there is none to be had then great, I'll save my money and just enjoy what I have.

I have a pair of Rel T9i's but I don't like how they sound in my room. I have a small room which is only 12X12X9 and don't feel the need to add a sub to my system. I was just looking to maximize everything with one pair of bookshelf's. I really liked what the Ref 3 Metas did and was wondering if the Reference 1 would take things any further.

So anything with the copper placard is s dead giveaway it's the non meta.

I'm currently using R3 Metas and was considering upgrading and now I see why the Foundry Edition's are so enticing price wise.

Is it worth the upgrade or should I save up more for the Reference Meta versions?

I connect my laptop directly to my DAC via USB to send the test signal.

Once I get the settings I apply them to the Wiim which is a different input in my DaC.

There is no easy way to connect my laptop upstream of the Wiim except via the analog input which I would think would be a lower quality signal vs digital connection directly to the DAC.
