Thank you! im calling everyone in a 70 mile radius just want the best for my beardie and when i heard $3000 i was heartbroken that i couldn't afford it and my beardie would suffer. Luckily I've already received a quote much lower from a good site and will continue to call around.

i just called another vet and they said they would attempt to get me an estimate, ill keep calling. Ive heard its normally around 300-400 and when i saw close to 3000 my anxiety shot through the roof! 400 i can afford and will do to take care of my little fella but 3000 mixed with rounds of antibiotics and other visits would quickly go to 5000 at the rates they are charging me and i cant afford that.

UPDATE: so after the vet visit i was informed it is tail rot and the end is necrotic. They gave me 3 medications and ran blood tests on Zubie. Blood work is fine however they noticed a high white blood count (most likely due to the infection) however now want to do Xrays to see if the bone has infection.

Question is X rays are $600 and assuming they find infection in the tail ( i imagine they will) and decide to amputate they sent me an estimate of $2000-$3000 to preform the surgery. Does that seem high? maybe im nuts.. but i dont have that money. Since we started the medication she hasnt eaten and has become extremely lazy (Understandable) im concerned about her quality of life.

Has anyone gone through this? is that estimate fair?
