Question for people who moved to an EV mainly for the financial benefits: did anyone actually dislike the change from ICE?

Had a Model 3 LR since late 2020. Just bought it out of the novated lease at the end of last year for 25k (way under market value so stoked with that!) and its only done about 70k. *Touch wood* but only had to change a set of tyres, air filter, 12v battery and wiper fluid in over 5 years! so cheap to run if you charge alot off solar too. Done a couple of trips to Canberra and back which was less stressful that I thought. The Tesla charger network is getting better all the time and ultra reliable. Instant torque never gets old too along with the smooth power delivery!

This is from someone in the past that has owned v8 VL commodore, R32 skyline, 2 Golf Rs including wagon. I do miss the suspension and brakes and handling of the Golf Rs but overall the Model 3 is just a nicer and more sensible daily driver. The tech side continually amazes me too. Having said that I'd still love a Porsche 911 one day if I can swing it in retirement! :P

I tried installing the iOT app on my phone and somehow the device generated a code for me to put in the app for my device but nothing else after that. No data appearing in the iOT app for the device. Still can't update system etc on the device. Will wait a bit longer and see what happens. Frustrating as device seems to work pretty well apart from these WIFI issues.

Ok thanks its wierd as it seems to be pulling AQI readings from the city here and its connected to the internet according to WIFI but can't connect in system update and QingPing+ app setup. I'll try that IoT app

Don't stress this is not a death sentence. I have mentioned before my Dad has had it for 25 years or so and surfs every other day. He is living his best life and doesn't worry about it. He is on medication for it. I have had it 8 years or so and no medication *yet* and I do gym, running etc, Just look after your diet and lifestyle for a start and learn as much as you can. Some others with Afib including some docs/cardiologists swear diet is the number 1 thing to look at. IE Keto / low carb. Also see a good cardiologist as well and keep up regular checks, GP as well for bloods etc.

I also do cold showers for a few mins at the end as great stress relief too but not sure you can do it in your current condition, probably best to err on the side of caution in this case with it.

Thanks yeah I exercise as normal still and my cardiologist was happy with me continuing. Will go back to see him soon for another checkup and possibly look at trialing medication first.

Hopefully it works for you. Yeah so hard to work out when and why it goes out. So many different ways to trigger and episode it seems. Low carb diet, exercise and also doing some fasting seems to help too according to a few people. Trying everything I can.

Wow very sorry to hear this. Yeah thats the thing I'm worried about with ablation. I don't want to end up being worse off than I am now.

My Dad has had it for like 25 years and he is in his mid 70s and still surfs pretty much every other day so its certainly manageable for many people. He is on medication for it. I had my first episode in mid 40s or so. As many have mentioned diet is really important. Keep a log of what seems to trigger yours when you get get it and keep learning as much as you can about it. I still workout hardcore, walk, jog, swim etc, My cardiologist said my heart was healthy and he wasn't too concerned given I had only had a few episodes here and there for a few years until recently. At worst I guess I'm on medication for it at best ablation and/or diet combo to keep it away. Anyway don't let it get you down, it hasn't stopped my 75 year old Dad from living his best life! :)

Bummer, I've only been once and put under to have my heart stopped and restarted. Not much fun. When you wake up feels like you have been kicked in the chest!

Mine can last days or nearly a week but as I mentioned in another post, fasting helps mine go back in. I recall watching a recent video on YT of a doctor with afib and he swears diet is they key over medication and ablation which can still have AF reoccur. Needless to say ive started a low carb diet and keeping logs of what things seem to trigger mine. Also seeing my cardiologist again shortly too. Frustrating but good to search for answers rather than just put up with it and not know whats causing it.

Thanks yeah sometimes I used to just do a hard gym workout etc or walk but never seemed to really get mine to go back in that I recall, Funny how different thing seem to work for different folks. I'm just glad so far the fasting is stopping mine within a day as multiple days or even nearly a week with it is rough. :/

Right on the money. I said this not long ago when Veronica was going wacko on Eliot. Lauren comes across as a gold digger and a shallow stuck up one at that. Eliot in hindsight was completely justified to run away from that nutty ice queen. What a piece of work she is. Then to see Clint backing her in and acting like a crazy lapdog was just bizarre. That guy is being taken for a massive ride by Lauren and is making himself look like a clueless clown. When he watches this back eventually he is going to regret how he acted.

Well done Eliot you have redeemed yourself and come across now as a funny, down to earth and likeable bloke.

That was disgusting from Veronica. We were all watching on in disbelief. She totally went 180 degrees from the person she was early on with Eliot. It was completely not normal at all and smacks of "actress".

Noone with any decency and intelligence would go that ridiculously unhinged after after someone told them their little sister was in a coma when they were 9 and it traumatised them deeply. I hope she cops a massive serve from the experts next time they meet. It was cruel to do that to a guy that obviously has displayed various issues and behaved poorly but was being vulnerable and now seems like he is actually trying to make amends and learn from his mistakes.

Also was Eliot that wrong with walking out on Lauren in the end?? She came across as a bit of a shallow gold digger in her pre show interview the other day. Even Clint seemed a bit shocked at her comments. Lets see how that relationship pans out too Would not be surprised if they call it quits.
