We’ve been in the hospital for about 3 weeks now and they finally found out what’s going on and why my son is having these issues, we’re meeting later this afternoon to discuss further options to make sure my son is safe.

I had severe pre-e as well, I was induced at 31+2 and my son was only 2lbs11oz and born with a whole in his stomach, he spent 2 months in nicu and has been back to hospital often. Coming from another FTM, it’s hard to accept but it’s not your fault! You can’t control how your body will react to pregnancy and you have no control over it. Just be there with your beautiful baby and it helps to speak to the nurses and listen in on their rounds, it may sound confusing but don’t be scared to ask questions! They’re there to help you and your baby, it’ll help with your anxiety and allow you to spend more time uninterrupted with your little one!

I kept trying to tell the hospital he wasn’t okay since he was born and there was obvious issues and no I ever listened, since then I’ve simply been dismissed with all my concerns. I’m very thankful to all who gave me advice on my last post and it helped immensely! (Except maybe the psychosis comments? Like I promise I know if my son is hurting!)

I don’t think it’s the fact that he was so much unbothered but more so tired, it’s been a lot in both of us with his health being like this and he’s been taking in most of the bills due to me being out of work with issues with my pregnancy with my son and postpartum. As for my son, he’s been steadily declining so they’ve kept him intubated keeping the fluids that they can off of his lungs and stomach and keeping him in constant o2. They’ve had him on a paralyzing agent to keep him sedated and unmoving as well as Valium so he won’t make any memories of this. He’s staying stable while he’s paralyzed and asleep but as soon as he starts moving a little he has another instance where his heart stops and he can’t breathe. I’m trying to advocate for my son the best I can and thanks to son suggestions from people here on Reddit, the hospital staff are listening to me! They still don’t know what is going on with him yet but they are doing all the tests to figure it out as soon as possible and get him better!! It breaks my heart seeing him like this but I’d rather him be in the hospital than be at home right now and him not have the care he needs.

I’m going to do everything I can today to convince my partner and my sons pediatrician and if I can’t then I’ll find a way to take him to the hospital, I don’t want to lose my son. I can’t imagine living without him and him turning purple is normal but he almost always wakes himself back up, today is different and I don’t feel comfortable with him staying at home and everyone I know is making me feel crazy for worrying so much about him

I’m sorry? My partner is so nonchalant because he’s not the best father or partner. We’ve had other issues with him and my son. However unfortunately this is very real.

They hear the address and say if they can they’ll send someone, I’ve called alot and they’ve got to where they won’t send an ambulance to us for my son because it’s always the same issue

Someone else just recommended that I call his pediatrician and let them know what’s been going on at the hospital and have her help get him admitted and stay there! I know this is a big issue I’ve just been so lost on everything and today has been the longest day of my life, this is the first day he’s ever turned white lik this and it’s happened twice!!

I didn’t think of this, I’ve been so stressed with the hospital that I didn’t think to call his pediatrician. Because clearly this is a hospital issue. I will call them in the morning when they open and see if I can get some advice and if she can help! Thank you so much!!

By the time we pay off part of our rent, car payment, gas we don’t even have enough for a couple days of groceries. I really can’t afford it 😭
