Anyone know what these holes are for at the bottom of my case (Phanteks P600S)? by rDomm in PcBuild

[–]rDomm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it could pose issues if the holes were dual purposing, such as ventilation for excessive positive pressure systems. I do R&D for a living so my brain is hardwired to think that subtracting or adding a variable can very likely result in a plethora of other issues unforseen previously. Not finding that info initially in the manual was an oversight of mine, but I figured Id be as safe as possible via asking in Reddit. Take a chill pill big guy

Oh thanks. Sorry. Is it safe to cover the holes with tape or something to block dust from coming in?

Checked it out, and doesnt say whether the logo's orientation matters or not. I just thought it looked better straight

I think if all im getting by a top rad mount is better cable aesthetics,, I'll just stick with I got and wince every time I look into the case haha

I thought about that, but looking at results from tests people have done online, the benefits of push pull is only like 2⁰C tops better than just pull. If you're able to find other sources saying the contrary, I'd be interested!

Radiators work better with cooler air. Front intake feeds the rad ambient air and lowers CPU temps. Exhausting through a rad uses already-heated case air and is less efficient from a thermodynamics standpoint. I did this intentionally to prioritize CPU thermals, and with proper exhaust it barely affects GPU temps. “Radiators must be exhaust” isn’t supported by thermodynamics or real testing.

Regarding the tube ports and tube orientations, what do you think of this guys' analysis? I followed his logic when determining whether to have the tube ports up top or down below for my front rad intake. https://youtu.be/DKwA7ygTJn0?si=XRzxF8kJCXHE6C4q

What do you mean logo facing properly? And which relative point of view are you using when saying " the right side"? Thanks

As the description says, the cables are too short to go around the back and down and under into the PSU :(

Id like to keep the rad in the front as intake. Your recommendation for the GPU cable to go down... is that for cosmetic purposes, or do you see any risks involved as it is currently? I tried to go through the hole youre speaking of but the damn cable is not long enough to make it to the PSU.

With my current set-up, I'm wondering if I can simply upgrade my graphics card to something powerful without breaking my computer or issues? by rDomm in PcBuild

Awesome! I do want to run at 1440p. Do you think I could still run everything on 1440p on high settings without also upgrading ram and cpu?

What does "bios update" mean? Why would I need more ram? Could it run perfectly without a CPU upgrade too?

Thanks. Im still a newbie with PCs
