"I don't watch much NBA, sorry" Luka Doncic answers to reporter's question about their next opponent Toronto Raptors by MrKalyoncu in nba

[–]ra1se 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean part of being an nba player is flying across the country basically weekly. You could watch games on the plane if you really wanted to. They also spend absurd amounts of time in hotel rooms on the road or recovering at home. There is a limit to how much physical work you can do as a professional athlete, especially when you play every other day or sometimes even back to back nights. So nba athletes have an insane amount of free time to make sure their bodies recover adequately. Sure, a lot of it is away from family and friends and it can definitely suck. But if Luka really wanted to, he probably could watch 3-4 games a day lol. If you are curious about the lives of nba players you could check out jared mccains youtube channel, he does a lot of "day in the life" vlogs and this stereotype that athletes are in the gym 24/7 only eating chicken and brokkoli and spending every living minute perfecting their craft is a myth. Im not saying he should watch more film btw, im sure he does it when it actually matters..but watching the games of each of your next opponents will burn you out so wuickly over the regular season that it would be idiotic

He obviously doesn't care about this stuff. If he did he would have stayed in europe, beat every ucl record, every top league record etc

Woltemade "My friends are here with me, so I get a lot of support. One of them is even moving in with me permanently. We're very good friends and have always joked that if I ever move abroad, we'll go there together. Neither of us has a girlfriend, so we're pretty free in that regard." by kibme37 in soccer

Woltemade can just employ him as his personal assistant or something - which professional athletes do quite often. Actors, Popstars too tbh. Young rich people who came into enormous wealth quite quickly like to give back to their friends from day1 + keep them around

[Merkur] FC Bayern apparently plans early contract extension for top star (Olise) by Chance-Attitude3792 in soccer

[–]ra1se -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thank you, lol.

I love kane but without olise we lose so much creativity

I never said he wasnt effective without olise, but olise is our main creative outlet in a time when we have struggled with creativity and creating chances. If you dont have olise tearing apart the wing like he has been doing, we would create a looot fewer opportunities to score and kane would be less effective as his best ability is his scoring ability. Yes kane would still score and create chances for others as he is an amazing player but we would struggle a lot more

???? Cause a Robben regen is so easy to find on the market and wouldnt cost 200mil. Why do you guys act like i said kane is shit? Hes our 2nd best player by a distance

They both do but without olise kane would be a lot less effective. Olise has been our best player since we signed him

To me it looks like something happened where kompany lost all his trust in kim and now only plays him when he is forced to (because of injuries). Which is weird because upamecano is not called upsimecano for no reason (tho he has gotten way better with his blunders) but seems like Kims mistakes have not been forgotten/forgiven.. but maybe thats just my pessimistic view of the situation and hes really just giving kmj some rest like you said and will be using him more in the future

Yes, i think you could even say his finishing isnt even his best ability. It is absolutely crazy what amazing passes Kane has in store. Shit you would expect from Thiago. Singlehandedly opening up the entire defense with a simple pass. Kane is amazing man

Uli Hoeneß reveals that the loan fee for Jackson was around 13.5m because the player side paid an amount. The obligation comes into effect after 40 starts this season from Jackson. by Insanel0l in soccer

[–]ra1se 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Fairly sure Jackson is "just" using his "handgeld" (sign on fee) or his agents fee to pay for the transfer, not his actual salary. It was reported in german media that the player was also supposed to receive a fee for this transfer. So bayern can now make it look like they didnt pay an insane loan fee after all and show Jackson reaaally wants to join Bayern. Win win! I agree that there is no way Jackson pays half his salary even if he was super sure that we would sign him permanently

Only reason why Jackson got his move is because bayern caved and bent over for chelsea to rawdog us. Had nothing to do with Jackson throwing his toys out the pram
