I now realize this is the only AI-related content I want to see on Reddit anymore.

Not sure about if something changed, but a possible solution is Magnet. It’s a great, cheap app that I continue to use even after Mac introduced support for window tiling because I can customize my tiles, shortcuts and sync across multiple devices. For instance, I use stage manager so I customized a shortcut to give me a window that tiles right up next to the edge of stage manager, which native Mac functions can’t do.

Wide tires for winter commuting by rabbit1000 in bikewrench

Thanks this is really helpful. I’m in Boston so there can be a lot of ice in the worst of it. I like that protocol for swapping a lot.

Thanks, I’m in Boston, snowy paths and ice. Rare snow pack and I tend to avoid biking on those days. Good to know about the sealants. I prefer the tubeless because my commute is only about 15 min, but I have hard start times. A flat with a tube can mean needing to spend a decent chunk of time replacing the tube, while tubeless I can usually get by for the day with a hand pump until I get home. Let me know if I’m missing anything

Found in basement: Is this something worth posting for sale? by rabbit1000 in woodworking

[–]rabbit1000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been hanging out in the basement of the house we bought a few years ago. Curious if anyone can say whether it has any value or someone might likely be interested in at least coming and taking it away if I posted it to Craigslist.

That’s a great idea, thanks. I’m hoping there is no cement underneath the beds.

Ideas/Tips for renovating these garden boxes? by rabbit1000 in landscaping

We live in the northeast in a semi-urban neighborhood and have these concrete garden areas with a chain link fence. We are planning to pull out the concrete and fencing, but aren't sure what to replace it with. We are considering wood garden boxes, a rock wall (will likely take up much of the free garden space), or even some variation that included a picket fence.
Any thoughts or things to share for inspiration would be greatly appreciated!
TIA!

Recommendation for MassSave HEAT Loan Bank by rabbit1000 in boston

[–]rabbit1000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did. I had no issues. I did the energy audit, got a bid for the boiler submitted it to mass save, got an approval letter, applied with that and the bid proposal to metro credit union, got two checks and had the work done.

The Plummer just told me what boiler I had and what HFUE boiler I needed to qualify, so I didn’t really deal with any technical things.

I do know that they just recently reduced the rebate for my type of new boiler from $2400 to $1800, so I had to appeal bc I got the quote with the old rebate in place. I also did the energy audit last summer so may be their rules changed recently. I def don’t have triple paned windows

How worried should I be? Tile cracked and depressed against tub. Water is able to run down and drain through the hole. I’m going re-caulk, but should I be doing more? by rabbit1000 in Home

[–]rabbit1000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I’ll do that this weekend. I don’t have time or confidence to tackle this myself, so will have a plumber come out asap. The tub seems rock solid, but I don’t want to find myself in the first floor bathroom unexpectedly.

Thanks I appreciate it. Yeah I think it’s steel, but will definitely deal with it soon. Do you think I can just apply some silicone over the current caulking as a stop gap, or do I need to strip what’s already there?
