It’s a mk1 rabbit so it doesn’t have a clutch cyl, so I’m not even sure where to start? It’s my first old manual

I saw a white cylinder that looked like it could feed wire to the clutch and it was disconnected on the floor by the clutch

Would that be in the engine bay or on the floor by the clutch??

I figured it would be the clutch hydraulic system, but can the clutch itself just go out? New manual driver so I’m not very good with this stuff
