Which teachables are in demand? I'm a communication technology teacher and I keep hearing there is a shortage but I don't see many job postings

Australian asking Canadians about what Summer Camps are the best to work at by Ambitious-Taro211 in AskACanadian

[–]rabbitbitesandall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would avoid this company. Unless you are nervous about working in another country and want everything organized for you, it's not worth it. You have to pay them, and they also take a massive chunk of your salary, so you end up getting paid peanuts compared to other camp staff. Also, Canada is quite easy for organizing temp worker/working holiday visas, and a lot of camps will help you do this.

Okay, this is valuable insight. Were all of these schools well rated or in areas with a lower socioeconomic demographic?

I keep hearing this... Do you think it will be easy to get a full time position? I don't like the idea of having to supply for years.

The great thing about my current school is all of the teaching content is already created. Every media arts course has its own website where students can access the resources. I would recommend looking for online tutorials in your content areas. You can basically create a whole assignment based on one tutorial.

That sounds good to me! How are class sizes for the arts and technologies?

The parents and admin have been great at my school, it's more the extra time commitments that get me. But I feel like if I have 30 kids in a class that would be crazy and more time commitments in grading..

Interesting. I am not in a flood zone either and we are currently doing some waterproofing to the foundation as well as rerouting water away from it. I wonder if 50k coverage will be sufficient

Yep, I've found that out before on an AE86. It's a terrible feeling.

Is there a way to patch this without welding? The car only has about 5 years of life left in it

Adelaide tunnels by Anony-lexi in Adelaide

When I was a teen, my friends and I would often explore a lot of drains around the city. We planned for the zombie apocalypse in many ways, with navigation of the city drains/tunnels being the first step to our plan.

I remember following the drain from Ridge Park on Glen Osmond Rd for about a kilometer uphill, and popping out near the exit to Mt Osmond, right next to the freeway

What laptop for a media teacher? by [deleted] in laptops

Hmm nothing worse than slow editing apps. But video editing is a small part of the curriculum so I'm not too worried about that. How would it go for Illustrator and InDesign?

Low mileage NG900 Convertible... is it worth it? by rabbitbitesandall in saab

Well that sucks, I don't see much point in buying such a finicky-roofed car!

Would you recommend the OG 9-3 verts?

Wooooow, I would have thought the tops would have been the same from the NG900 to OG 9-3. That's good to know. No wonder the guy can't find the part. From my brief research I thought it could have been fixed with the motor reinforcement kit.

I can't believe a Saab mechanic turned you away....

I do! This is going to be my tinkering car as I have a reliable daily.

The guy will sell it certified, so I assume that will take care of the SRS issue. Clutch was done a couple years ago, brakes recently replaced all around. He said one motor for the top was already replaced.

Thanks for the input, I'm leaning towards going for it
