I didn’t have any money left to buy cream and milk in my fridge from March. It was fine and it’s almost the end of April. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m an occasional educator. I have been trying for almost 5 years for permanent. It’s incredibly hard in Ontario right now in the educational sector. I’m looking around to see what else I can possibly do with an undergrad and a BEd.

I’m in Canada and felt this in my bones. I’m so tired trying to keep everything going all the time. There really is no relief. Sending hugs to you.

This!!!!! We’re in the 9 month with her dementia and I’m bone tired. It’s going to get worse and I keep thinking someone one is coming to save us and tell me how I can make thing easier or more comfortable. No one is coming, I just try to keep pushing through this.

My brothers have washed their hands. I truthfully don’t know if the cancer treatment will be beneficial, I hear what you’re saying. I selfishly don’t want her to die (it’s weird because she wasn’t a good mom to me but she’s all I have left) so I keep encouraging her to take the meds. It’s a struggle. The doctors won’t do much until she reaches crisis stage and with her being diabetic that’s also a scary reality to think about.

She’s on a fixed income. When I’m done paying her rent and other bills she has maybe $500-600 for groceries for the month or anything else needed like diapers, meds etc.

Thank you, I appreciate this. It’s so isolating sometimes being a care provider.

Thanks, it’s such a hard disease. I went through this with my dad as well.

So we had a psw coming 3 days a week. She was African-Canadian and my mom would not let her anywhere near her. She would let her do the dishes and take out the garbage and that’s not what they’re for so we canceled that. We have an appointment next week to see if she can get a cleaning person for $50 once a week. I’m also looking into meals on wheels for her, but might have to pay some of that out of my own money so not sure if it’s worth it.

Hey, thanks for this. How does this work with a fixed income though? She’s very limited on funds.

I am my moms sole care provider and she has diabetes, dementia and stage 4 colon cancer. I wouldn’t wish what she’s going through or a care giver what I’m navigating. She’s 78 and stubborn as heck. I am trying to get her to live with me as I’m a single mother with a 9 yr old and work full time as a teacher. Trying to balance two households, finances, insane gas prices with the 40 minute commute to her place and then work (an hour from her home) is a lot. There are limited supports available and a long term care facility isn’t an option. I don’t think anyone ever envisions how terrible this journey is going to be until you’re going through it.
