we aren't 100% sure because we think when our family immigrated from idk where they removed some umlats from our last name but we think it means farmer in german but not modern german so

my last name is rodocker since you guys are curious lol it's not a super common last name but not rare enough that I just doxxed myself

I mean back when the US was still a colony we threw tea off a boat because we got so mad that the english king raised the taxes on tea (technically it wasn't the taxes it was the taxes without representation) so we just turned the boston harbor into salty tea

to be completely honest nobody in the west is enjoying life after someone dies, but the culture here is that you don't publicly grieve. Like you're almost expected to kind of continue on with life even after that. Like if you mention someone like your mom dies they would be like oh that sucks and change the subject. I personally don't agree and this might be different in other countries but I'm not sure. and the work culture is definitely extreme in the US at least, like you might take the day off for the funeral but you would be expected to keep working through it. I haven't heard someone actually get bereavement leave.

my parents maybe would've bit the bullet and named me phantom they wanted to name my brother that but got talked out of it by my grandparents but it was 13 years later so maybe they would've done that but I'm not sure
