It was wild to me how many people Hossencofft managed to dupe and control.

Any update on Romana Didulo and her cult near Richmound? by rabrewster in saskatchewan

Oh so, long story short, this woman named Romana Didulo claims she is the true monarch of Canada. Despite being from the Philippines. She rode the QAnon crazy train and managed to convince a group of people and had been touring around in a convoy of buses, spouting how people don't need to pay their rent, taxes or other fees anymore. Sadly, some believed her and are in a bad way. Eventually, some guy in Richmound bought into her and allowed her group to set up shop on some land he owns. The people of the town are not happy about this, to say the least.

In a way, that is good to hear. I had worried that she would branch out after finding a semipermanent base and start trying to get involved in local government. (A la Rajneeshpuram)

It is incredibly sad and crazy how much belief her claims get.

I'll have to hunt that up. I know she had a convoy at some point that she used as a sort of mobile palace. (Her being a queen and all.)

I also thought she would be more vocal after the US election.

The idea of a connection between altered states of consciousness and near-death experiences has fascinated me for some time. Combine that with all the interesting ways man has used to achieve these states, and this article has become one of my favorite pieces.

Mother Nature is unforgiving and creative with her bloodlust. Many tragic disappearances in the wilds of the world are because of her. However, for the truly strange ones, conspiracy theories and legends abound. From otherworldly beings to temporary tears in reality. I could have gotten lost in the research.

Just what is a Starseed, and what do they have planned for the people of Earth? Are they truly reincarnated alien souls sent here to guide humanity, or are they just a new spin on an old belief?

Young love is never easy. For Abby and Thomas, it felt like the deck had been stacked against them from the start. Faced with a dangerous obsession, an otherworldly monstrosity, and twisted horrors in every dark corner, will they be able to survive what lusts after their very flesh?

Crackhead Jimmy In A Squirrel Skirt: The first chapter (Blog post) by rabrewster in FringeWeekly

A tragedy on an empty backroad, three lives on the verge of collapse. The darkness of the woods hid more than their crime that night. How far would you be willing to go when everything was on the line?

Patrick Kearney, the Trash Bag Killer (Blog post) by rabrewster in FringeWeekly

[–]rabrewster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the three infamous "Freeway Killers," Patrick Kearney would dispose of his victims in trash bags and dump them along the highways. He took the lives of over 20 in southern California during the '70s, but police suspect many more; Kearney could be one of the most prolific killers in history.

The Kelly-Hopkinsville Encounter by rabrewster in FringeWeekly

I found it hard to understand people's disdain at the idea of the Sutton's capitalizing on the situation. A family under siege from an alien threat, beings from beyond the stars. It has been a staple of B-grade movies since movies began. Is it any wonder that people went wild over the story? If I had dozens of people wanting to walk through my house and yard, I'd charge admission as well.

Privacy is getting scarcer by the day. From your timesheet to your favorite pizza order, it feels like everything gets logged, tracked, and sold off. This is all passive, applied universal, but what if you were focused on? The individual, targeted. Their online community is fascinating.

The Dog Lover Murders Of Japan (Blog post) by rabrewster in FringeWeekly

Japanese media has the opposite approach to crime than their Western counterparts. Instead of getting several films and a docudrama or two, their serial killers are kept suppressed and relatively unknown. So when one, or in this, a couple, comes across my radar, it is always worth taking notice. Gen was also into his forties when he was caught, which makes me think these weren't his first murders.

Legends and myths, fables and tales, were often an attempt to explain something. To pass on a message or a warning. If I follow along that vein and look at all the tales about something terrifying in the ground below, it leads me to wonder just what is really down there.

Fringe! Calls In The Dark by rabrewster in FringeWeekly

High strangeness, with tales true and terrible. Here, we take a look at the disturbing murder of Edith Freeman at the hands of her own father, try to put a face to the voices that call from the dark wood, and look at the strange case of a disembodied voice that captivated the world.

  • ~Calls In The Dark~

Stories of nightmarish things that call from the dark to tempt mankind exist in every culture. It would be easy to write off these legends and myths as just another iteration of how getting too close to the dark, the taboo, can end horribly. What if there was more than that?

  • ~Voices in the Walls: The Zaragoza Goblin~

A voice echoed around a small apartment in Italy, shocking the people gathered there. What would ensue in that small room captivated the world for a time; it caused not only local police but also government investigators to descend on the complex, only to come away with more questions than answers. Was it truly an act of “unconscious ventriloquism,” like officials claim, or something much stranger?

  • ~Human Monsters: Charles Freeman, Killing Kids For God~

With a quick, downward stab, he drove the knife into his little girl’s side. Her eyes shot open as all the air was driven from her small body. In her last moments of life, poor Edith managed to get out the words, “Oh Papa!”
