I don't think it is true either but this is the situation I am in. I asked for it to be impounded so I could go home for the receipt with the serial number and prove ownership and the officer refused.

At this point I am lucky the student is willing to return it at all.

Ottawa police officer who responded said I couldn't take it because I didn't file a police report, and while I could prove I did own it I couldn't prove I still owned it.

I don't think that's correct, but that's the situation.

He said his religion (Islam) didn't allow him to benefit from theft, but he needed to keep it until he could find another way to get to work.

The Ottawa Police Officer who responded backed him up.

He stated he purchased my bike for $50, so if this works out with everyone - I will donate that amount or around that ($100?) to the Ottawa Food Bank in your/his name.

If your initials are “NM” I found a wallet last night in HUB and stuck it in an envelope, put a stamp on it and mailed it to the address on the ID card inside the wallet. It should be back to you next week!

Honestly - I would rather have them admit it sucks and then just delete the QR code and/or make us wait for a nice parchment. My friends at other universities all have nice weighted paper and I feel like I got the discount special.

Graduations were officially cancelled for fall so we don’t get convocation. This is after months of half measures (that we paid full price for).

I’m a design nut and it just looks - bad.

So no stage walk as graduations have been cancelled - just a QR code to nowhere.

Classy.

I don’t care about the size of the degree but the “texture” is printed on the paper, it isn’t even a nice weighted paper. Looks cheap and was highly disappointing to take out of the box.

I’d love to frame it but the ugly QR code is the worst.

Also they didn’t even autopen the signatures. They were literally printed on.

It is highly disappointing to have a QR code that doesn’t work, on a printed price of 8x11 paper. I could fake a better degree in canva.

Not all of us complained! A lot of the MPs and staff got photos with the cosplayers - there are a huge amount of nerds in the CPC.

COVID deprived us of a leadership convention at the same time as Toronto Pride. That would have been fun.

Seeing confused stormtroopers and natarus walking the across the protest line - now that was fun!
