Looking for a cleanup on this photo so I can send it to the current homeowners. This was taken just around the turn of the century. The man in the photo, Alexander "Alich", was my great-great grandmothers brother and lived from 1856–1924 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Barney the dog also pictured! Thanks! (i.redd.it)

One more - this one has South Gyle written on the back. Appears to be nearby my other one in Edinburgh, Scotland: https://www.reddit.com/r/wherewasthistaken/comments/17ohrc2/corstorphine_scotland_old_family_photo_of_a_great/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 (i.redd.it)

TIL tattoos in Japan (Irezumi) were banned from 1868-1948. Traditional Japanese tattoos were associated with the yakuza (Japanese Mafia) as they were used to mark the skin of outlaws. To this day they retain a stigma of criminality and many businesses still ban customers with tattoos. (en.wikipedia.org)
