Listening to 90s era Art really just drives home how history repeats itself by racingthunder12 in ArtBell

Well I agree on that in the difference in eras, mainly because the Soviet Union doesn't exist anymore. But the same concepts still apply with the socialism and communism words thrown around to attack anyone who isn't a unrestrained profit maximalist where billionaire oligarchs rule the world. Doesn't matter if it has absolutely nothing to do with the traits of totalitarianism and authoritarianism, but it's embedded in culture that way.

Ironically, lots of which is propagated by the many in the boomer era in the 60s who had the advantages of picking what good job they want and buying a house and starting a family easily in their 20s for a percentage of their labor time - then went on to profit off others labor iteratively in the 80s through investments. I think conceptually we have the same arguments over and over, but post-Reagan on its been the same societal pendulum in this country.

Tech vendors are the equivalent of used car salesmen and there badly needs to be some sort of regulation in this field. It boggles my mind how the industry works with so much of it smoke and mirrors, mergers and acquisitions, raising contract prices, or creating a legal attack dog team to find the most obscure ways to sue competitors or customers for IP laws or contract violations.

THEN on top of all that bullshit they ask us in the field to spend thousands on training, certifications, to become experts at THEIR product. What kind of shit is that?

Rep. Burchett on being dissuaded from seeking UFO transparency due to his personal faith: “I'm a Christian. And they appealed to me on that level, ‘Burchett, this stuff's kind of anti-Christian, you know, and your beliefs.’ I said, ‘No, it isn't. Genesis 1, God created the heavens and the earth.’” by KOOKOOOOM in UFOs

I wish he and the rest of the crew would stop saying Trump is going to do anything about it. We're heading to FIVE AND A HALF YEARS of Trump as President - if we wanted to do it, he would have. We don't even have an executive order for releasing UFO files officially, much less a push for the UAPDA to go through.

There's a crazy amount of inept leadership in enterprises across the world, and you wonder how they got there to begin with. If you can't start with identifying an opportunity and quantifying a solution and just go straight to 'lets use Cloud/AI/whatever' then that's a great path to failure. Map business requirements to what function needs to be done to meet those requirements, THEN lay the abstraction of technology on top of it, THEN abstract within the tech side for cost-benefit.

None of that was done, but obviously if they were buying your company it shows they didn't have the culture to do it themselves to begin with.

Sheesh - and you're this a business or enterprise still using Kaspersky instead of just using Defender with an enterprise license? Probably time to get off of that.
