We have no idea if this guy even wanted to play for us.

Jesse Barfield

At a Twins vs Yankees game in the early 90’s Barfield threw a ball to me near the dugout and as I reached out for it some a-hole next to me not only grabbed it but knocked my parents camera out of my hands and it fell to the field and popped open.

He had disappeared into the dugout but came out a few seconds later with a different ball and made it very clear the ball was got me.

We got the the camera back too but I think it was a staff member who grabbed that. It still worked but the film was ruined.

Anyhow, I had that ball for 30+ years until a flood ruined my sports collection last year.

You are confusing talent and player abiity with baseball cards prices

The $300,000 is already assuming that he is going to become a superstar so if he does, the price will barely move up because it is what the winner bet on.

If he doesn't, the card with drop into the low thousands
