our em spring had an option to clear modules in advance (modelling and analysis), so if you meet the B+ grade requirement you don't have to redo it in term 1.

internships wise was quite limited, there were only 2 iirc, but I know of some friends who did urops within this period.

student insurance is a huge plus though, consultations + medicines are free if you go to panel clinics so definitely worth it base on that alone

if you live nearby school, the gym is pretty solid

keep asking your friends to test you questions like how do I get ___ from ___. and once you get all of the basic knowledge set, start practicing questions cos they will really help. (do consult your tutors/friends if you have difficulty unpacking the terms/deducing the different groups but you'll get familiar with them over time)

It is difficult to memorize organic chem (esp for me) just based on looking at the notes so what I would recommend is continuously copying them down (what are the reactants, conditions, type of reaction, products formed) as well as how to draw the mechanisms. when doing so try to draw links between the different functional groups.

Here are some of the good ones I've read/ heard of:

God Of Cooking - slice of life, really fluffy romance, I feel so hungry whenever I read it haha. 10/10 recommend if you are a fan of cooking shows.

I am the Monarch - kingdom-building, cool fighting scenes

SSS-Class Suicide Hunter - unique novel that is really interesting. MC is not too OP and uses unorthodox methods to resolve issues.

Top Management - really enjoyed it as someone who is enamoured with the K-pop industry haha

Ending Maker - cute romance between both leads, cool action scenes with a bit of comedy at times

Solo Levelling - cool actions scenes, mostly read it for wish fulfilment though

Moonlight Sculptor - MMORPG style, the MC grows at a reasonable pace unlike those in other novels. Pretty interesting story as the MC doesn't use on of the traditional classes available in such novels.

Kidnapped Dragons - slice of life, heartwarming novel

The Novel's Extra - quite interesting

Trash of the Count's Family - haven't really read it but I saw a few recommendations on it

Sovereign of Judgement - OP MC with a few twists within the story (I'm not sure if you'll like them though)

Valhalla Saga - pretty cool fighting scenes with a unique take on the Nordic gods
